Don't know if this has been done before, but it's a long lockout so I decided I'd try it. I ran a lottery simulation a while back and came up with a draft order which can be seen here. I decided that instead of coming up with a mock draft myself I would have the fans of each team vote on their pick. I'll post the collective results once every fanbase has voted.
Anaheim has the #3 pick. Thus far only Aleksander Barkov and Nathan Mackinnon have been selected. Who do you think the Ducks should draft?
I'm thinking Seth Jones. Would give us a totally wild core of young defensemen (Fowler, Sbisa, Lindholm, Jones, Vatanen).
Shinkaruk back together with Etem in the future is also a thought.
Shinkaruk is petite. I mean I wouldn't mind him at #7 (assuming Mack, Jones, Barkov, Monahan, Lindholm, and Drouin have all been selected)
The correct answer is Sean Monahan or Seth Jones. I know take BPA, but our defensive core is solid and a player like Monahan won't be such an easy grab for us in later drafts. He's got Jonathan Toews in him and we need a player like that on this team.
Anyway you put it, it's a pretty nice lineup. Would be impossible to keep them all though but replacing Beauchemin with Clark could give them more time together.
I think it's gotta be Jones. He's the best prospect in the draft from my perspective, just so much talent and raw physical ability. Getting him at 3 would be a Fowler-level steal for the Ducks, and the pairing of them would instantly be among the top 15 or so in the NHL, at an average age of 21
Only players I'd pick ahead of Jones are Mackinnon and Barkov, so this is pretty easy.
If we get the #3 pick, this lockout won't leave such a bad taste in my mouth. Though the fact that it looks like we'll be robbed of watching Selanne take the ice again, is a bit much to bear.
Jones is probably the obvious pick. But the Ducks have rarely taken the obvious pick.
The other thing is here is a raw, toolsy kind of guy. In order to pan out he would need to harness his physical gifts. I feel like the majority of their recent picks have been the opposite type. Although Etem kind of resembles that.

Fowler was the obvious pick, too. If you saw that draft board they had written up, the top 3 were the obvious choices. I think it's outside of that where you start to see the craziness. Then again, this draft year is all over the place with talent.
Trade the pick. Some teams jaws would drop at the chance to select Jones #3 overall, so milk it for all it's value and try and get Monahan or Lindholm at #5/6.
So it looks like the Ducks are going to go with Seth Jones. Thanks for everyone who came out and shared their opinion. I'll post the full results in the prospect forum once every team has voted.

I don't know anything about these guys tbh, I usually don't care much about the upcoming draft until a month or two before it's taking place when the scouting reports are at their most accuracte. I just know that Elias Lindholm is the most hyped young SEL foward since Nicklas Backstrom.
