Islanders web site has posted 2 videos on Strome from TSN, one by Craig Button and the other
by Mark Masters. Included are some highlights from the incredible comeback against Sudbury
which I saw live and still is hard to believe two weeks later.
Definitely must see that ! One question about Strome, have we EVER had a prospect lead the CHL in scoring after we had drafted him ? If I remember correctly, we might have had one, Dave Simpson, I think back in 1982 or 1983. I believe Lafontaine led the CHL in scoring, but that was BEFORE we drafted him.

I think that Jiggs (McDonald) jinxed Simpson when he announced on Sportschannel "that Simpson won the Molson Canadian Junior hockey Player of the Year and that he would have a bright future with the Islanders." Simpson never played a game in the NHL, but I think that he did lead the OHL in scoring in 1982.
London did an effective job of collapsing around their goaltender blocking shooting and passing lanes. Strome has a few good chances he created in period 2 but could not connect. Still impressed with his skating improvement and strength since I last watched him.
Theoret is not a bad player, he will have a chance for an ELC.
Niagara @ London was on the NHL Network last night. I caught most of it.
I noticed good vision from Strome but other than that he didn't really do anything to make me notice him more so than anyone else. Obviously his body of work so far this year has been impressive.
The line of Thereot-Strome-Ricthie was by far the best line for Niagara.
One player who I thought was very good was Niagara defensman Jesse Graham. Set up a beauty goal with a nice rush. I was impressed so much that I went online to see if he had been drafted and I saw that we (NYI) took him last year. I'll re-iterate I thought he was the best player on the ice last night for Niagara. This is my opinion as a casual observer of junior league hockey so take it for what it's worth.
Two impressive dmen of London: Olli Maata (PIT 1st round '12) and Scott Harrington (PIT 2nd round '11). Pretty effective of shutting down the Strome line for the most part, despite Ricthie's two goals.
Also, watch out for London forward Bo Hovart (#36 of Craig Button's 2013 draft list). Was a bottle of energy on the ice, constantly making things happen.
In Finland today, SaiPa beat Karpat 4-3 (SO) and Ville Pokka scored his 4th goal of the year
for Karpat. Have to watch him when Finland is on TV during the World Junior.
Big Griff with a goal already tonight. EDM leading CGY 1-0 in the 1st. Good to see him bury one. Hopefully this can spark some more offense for the kid.

Listening to the game, Griff with a big slapper on the powerplay, Edmonton leads 2-0 after 1.
Reinhart last night had no luck, hit 1 crossbar and 2 posts.
Kichton with a +3 in a 4-3 loss is also pretty impressive. Considering none of Moose Jaw's goals were scored on the PP.
Having listened to last night's game Griff got a lot of powerplay time yesterday.
Scored on a one timer, his second assist was also on the powerplay as his shot created
a rebound. Edmonton really needs to use that big shot on the point.

It's been a mystery to me why Edmonton was using a 5-man PP 1st unit. It's nice to see that when Reinhart finally gets some premium PP time, he can deliver offensively with a nice game last night. The Oil Kings haven't been tearing up the league for whatever reasons that I am unaware of, but I hope this trend continues.

The five forward powerplay has not worked well, wonder why Edmonton stuck with it for so long.
Reinhart is the best shooter, passer from the backline they have.
