Can't find highlights of the Turris - Karlsson game. Didn't really hard, but nothing at first glance. Anything?

Zack Smith has started to play for Frederikshavn Whitehawks in the danish Al-Bank liga. His team got a 3-1 victory and Zack Smith scored to 2-0.

Kyle Turris is leaving Finland and Kärpät, Oulu for "personal reasons".

Kyle Turris with a brilliant goal and assist. He actually got 3 points. Looked like he assisted on that last goal as well.

I'm gonna spin this positively - he knows the NHL will be back and he feels that the conditioning in the Finnish league, while top notch, is not enough for him. He will spend the next 2 weeks becoming a true man, at which point the NHL will resume gameplay.

He is going home to get into superstar shape, partaking in a montage starting off with him being stoned by a goalie, cut to some scenes of him lifting rocks in the BC wilderness, running up a mountain with his crush secretly watching from a window, go to some scenes of him watching an old man drawing up some plays on a chalkboard, and end with him blowing a shot past the goalie, and straight through the net, with the old man nodding approvingly, stating he is now ready.

All with Push it to the Limit blasting in the background

Stife already wrote about today's Karlsson's and Turris's game above and you can see highlights from above also. Here're detailed stats.

Karlsson:

DEC 8, 2012: JOKERIT @ TPS 2 - 4
G 0, A 1, P 1, +/- -1, S 7, PIM 12, TOI 14:13

Karlsson after 27 games: G 7, A 17, P 24, +/- +9, S 211, PIM 24, average TOI 25:07

Turris:

DEC 8, 2012: KÄRPÄT @ SAIPA 3 - 4 S/O
G 0, A 1, P 1, +/- -1, S 3, PIM 0, TOI 17:44

Kyle after 21 games: G 7, A 12, P 19, +/- +8, S 92, PIM 24, TOI 19:43

There's a break for a week because of Channel One Cup in Russia. Next games in 1,5 weeks.

Good to know because NelonenPro has the best highlights quickly after the games. I thought their videos were country locked but good to know everyone can see them.

1.5 weeks, that's probably why Turris left. I can see the NHL coming back in a couple of weeks and instead of staying in Finland, Turris would rather come here, train and get ready for the season.

Greening had a goal and 2 assists today

He is now 10-11 through 12 games

1 back the team lead in goals, and 5 back in points with 8 less games

Seems like several players have come home lately citing personal reasons.

BS. Kypreos got in trouble because he told everyone coaches were calling players telling them to get ready. "Personal reasons" mean "I'm coming home and you can't ask me about it, because it's personal, but in reality, it's because I'd be an idiot to say the lockout was ending".

Erik Condra has 10 goals and 5 assists in 8 games with last place SC Riessersee of the German 2nd division. Even with the hilarious google translation, you can tell that the fans love him. This is the same team that also signed DiPietro and D'Agostini (who only has 8 points in 10 games).

They probably had never seen stamina quite like Condra's before.

Like you, the player I was most eager to see was Turris more than anyone.

Thanks, great to hear he's playing exactly the way I thought he would be this year, even if its in a different league

Also its absolutely great to see Greening just flat out dominate, which is expected considering where he's playing, but still encouraging to see. I really think he's going to surprise a lot of people and grab a full time spot in the top 6. He's a pure workhorse, an intelligent hockey player who's responsible defensively, and blessed with a big frame and speed. He's the type of player any team would covet. He's the guy who made Nick Foligno disposable in the eyes of the organization imo.

Hmmmm, that's an interesting assumption. Could have some truth to it.

Karlsson trying to bowl referees with his stick:

Karlsson and Ruutu didn't really like that referees missed three dirty hits from TPS players. Ruutu also had 10 minute penalty.

It's been discussed here before. Greening is an overachiever in every aspect of his life and Foligno has underachieved as a hockey player - when you compare work ethic, composure and that famed "newfie toughness" I wouldn't be surprised if he had a lot to do with getting rid of Foligno.

Remember greening was like a super keener in college too which teams like

Never once did I get the impression. Seems like a super hard worker who would have been a great leader, but lacks the skill (like Greening) to take the next step. Remember we wanted Methot, they asked for Foligno, so he's valuable too.
