Interesting. So why do teams and scouts watch players several times when only 1-5 shifts are needed to make an assesment? Why incur all that cost and time to watch players more than 1-5 shifts? I guess there is a massive exodus of scouts leaving games early, once they have seen the 1-5 shifts?

My brother in law is a pro scout and I've never heard him say anything of the sort.

Gardiners skating was laboured to start the game i thought. Maybe he went in hurting a little to start with.

I think Gards got injured from the charging hit in the 2nd period, he still finished the period and scored but didnt come back for the 3rd. Hopefully its just precautionary

I hope Gardiner doesn't have a concussion.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Mike-...Game/120/47863

Quote:
After the game, when asked about Gardiner by Leafs TV's Paul Hendrick, coach Dallas Eakins revealed that defenseman had experienced some ill effects after taking a high hit, which caused him to miss the third period.

"Jake got a hit to the head, it wasn't a real concussion state or anything like that, it was just not feeling quite right. With all of our players, we err on the side of caution and we'll reevaluate him later tonight and tomorrow."

He left just for precaution I believe. Eakins said in an interview that it wasn't anything concussion like. They'll re-evaluate him today

just before Gardiner's second goal on the PP. Parker went to the box for taking a charging penalty on Gardiner the previous play. It didn't look like a hit to the head but Jake was definitely looking backwards when the hit happened. Could be some whiplash affects there!

Gardiner didn't protect himself on that play.

Hopefully a learning experience that hasn't resulted in anything serious.

Don't want to be a drama queen, but lets hope Gardiner doesn't have to go through like Reimer last year. Even if he feels fine, just rest him for 2-3 weeks.

If he sits down this game, that'll give him an entire week to see where he is at, which is why I am not opposed to it if he is sitting this oneout.
