Notes from Tuesday’s practice

Forward Andre Petersson sat out practice on Tuesday. He pulled a lower-body muscle in the second period of Friday’s win over Adirondack, according to Richardson, and then missed Sunday’s game against Syracuse. Petersson’s injury was lessened a bit by the return of Stephane Da Costa, who scored a hat trick on Sunday.

Also absent from practice on Tuesday were Benoit and fellow defenseman Tyler Eckford, both AHL veterans who were given an extra day of rest.

Binghamton Senators on record roll under coach Luke Richardson

Still, no team in the AHL is playing better than the B-Sens right now. Backed by the exceptional goaltending of Robin Lehner and Ben Bishop, they’ve given up the third fewest goals in the league. Their defence has held up fine - despite the loss of Jared Cowen - and chipped in with 20 of the team’s 57 goals. And with the B-Sens scoring 18 times in the last three games, the forwards are starting to produce.

“They’re rolling along well and they’re playing well, they seem to be enjoying coming to the rink,” said Richardson. “I know we’ve had success and we’re on a bit of a run, but around the dressing room that really hasn’t been the buzz. The buzz is just the feeling they have. They just have a good feeling with each other. They really have a lot of fun. It just brings out the best in their game.

“When it’s all said and done, I think when you pass something in history, everybody is always proud of that and excited about it.”

From the article;
Quote:
In doing so, they’d have a shot at setting a new franchise mark by defeating the Norfolk Admirals (9-11-0-2) Saturday at “The Broome”.
.. What??

Quote:
The American Hockey League record for most wins in a row is 28, set last season by those very Admirals.
.. No, that is Syracuse who switched affiliates

Quote:
With Mika Zibanejad (throat infection) and Andrew Petersson (lower body) still sidelined, Richardson has found balance up front.
.. Now it's a throat infection??

Quote:
On defence, the B-Sens will probably be without Mark Borowiecki, at least Friday. He has a strained neck after being jumped in the Syracuse game last weekend.
..Really??

Quote:
Richardson plans to use Bishop in goal against Portland then play Lehner Saturday.
.. That's not Luke's style to give up who's the starting goalies.

Zibanejad had both a throat infection and headaches caused by his wisdom teeth (presumably), which are now removed.

Is it just me, or has the press coverage of the B-Sens this year sucked major nuts...

I can't comment on the media coverage in Bingo but in Ottawa the Sun is writing much more about the Sens prospects & the B-Sens more than they ever have before IMO.

I think we all miss Joy's coverage we got spoiled by her great coverage the past 2 seasons.

She gave us so much information she was at dam near all the practices. I miss her reports on practice Ect.......

Not only Binghamton she reported on Ottawa as well the entire Senator organization she covered........

Haha great picture. JGP looks like a cool high school student. Stone looks like a nerdy university student. Silfverberg is a magician. Claesson is a brontosaurus. And Da Bosta looks like he's about to break into a rap.
