I always enjoy finding teams that have something listed as a strength but we have as a weakness but then ours is better than theirs.
Nashville has a strength in goaltending
Magnus Hellberg - 7.0 D
Marek Mazanec - 7.0 D
Jeremy Smith - 6.5 C
Chet Pickard - 6.5 D
Toronto has a weakness in top end goaltending
Mark Owuya - 7.0 C
Garrett Sparks - 7.0 D
Jussi Rynnas - 7.0 D
Ben Scrivens - 6.5 B
Similar, but based on those rankings one could definitely give Toronto an edge in goaltending, yet for us it's a weakness but Nashville has it as a strength. I understand part of it could be because they used to have Lindback, but he isn't listed anymore and hasn't been for a few months.
But then also their team was ranked as 9th overall in prospects whenever it was done last, leafs in 18th, but the top 5 Nashville prospects had lower rankings than the top 5 leafs. Go figure
Indeed, if you look at the number/letter rankings, you'll leave puzzled. Maybe 3 years ago (?) a team ranked top three had less higher ranked players (significantly less) that they projected as likely to hit their ranking than a team that was ranked 12 - 15. Also worth noting that those who now hold these organizational rankings dear wanted nothing to do with them a few months ago. That probbly tells you a lot about their motivation.
Morgan's gotta be thrilled to be getting out of Moose Jaw for awhile and playing with some real talent. Warriors are frustratingly hopeless offensively.
EDIT: Just as I say that, they score 2 greasy ones 16 seconds apart and it's tied.
Anyone know the extent of Leivo's injury? All I could come up with is this:
Quote:
Leivo, 19, suffered an injury in the Nov. 24 game against the Niagara IceDogs and has been out of the Wolves’ lineup ever since. The Pack's leading scorer has been an offensive dynamo for the team and has recorded 27 points in 26 games. The Wolves had hoped that the Toronto Maple Leafs prospect would return to the lineup this week, but that will unfortunately not be the case.
The difference with Rupert though, is he will back up his antics. He is willing to drop the gloves and won't cower behind someone.
Youve got them backwards lol. Ruperts pretty bad for not manning up when he should. Hes small so I dont blame him and he will fight every now and then, but he doesnt fiht much. Hollweg was fighting all the time and was much more willing then Rupert. I doubt Rupert will have 21 fights in one season of pro hockey

I like Broll. Is Devane good enough to play hockey on the 4th line/13th forward and be an enforcer or is he a career AHLer. I have a buddy whose fought him and he was considered the toughest in the O for a season or 2

Pretty gutless on the Erie fans tonight #classanyone?"
Does anyone know what he's talking about. I didn't see the game, but I know Erie got whooped.
I think he's talking about the teddy bear toss that was supposed to happen in Erie. Since Guelph shut them out the Erie fans never had a chance to toss the teddy bears and they started tossing them on Guelph's 6th goal.
I don't really see that move as gutless, but that's the only thing I could come up with.

Yeah he got absolutely rocked by Dougie Hamilton. He's had a head injury. Not sure if it's a concussion or not, but last I heard he was suppose to be back but he hasn't been back yet.. So maybe it is a concussion.
I actually heard that Leivo is pretty upset with the Wolves though. Heard he wants out and stuff, so we'll have to wait and see.

I forgot about the teddy bear toss. I remember Guelph did that for the Owen Sound Attack on Friday. I guess that makes sense.
Hahaha, so another Leafs player destroyed by a Bruins player ? the cycle continues...for now.
Can't wait till our team has a proper bottom six with the truculence that was promised to come, and with some of our prospects, I wouldn't doubt that it will in the next couple years.
Glad to hear our prospects are doing well, and hope that Sparks is able to make the USA squad in the worlds, being from Calgary I want him to take the second spot over Gillies (Flames prospect )
