I would've done Hodgson + Schneider for Kessel.. I don't like Kassian though and I can't see him ever becoming more than a 3rd liner.

Apparently Washington offered a 1st for him at last years deadline.

As it is I wouldnt trade him for anything except in a package for a much better player. Hes starting to show the fruits of his development and should be a good NHLer as early as when we play NHL hockey again.

Indeed. He has improved every year since being drafted and is now focusing on the small details in his game that will eventually make him a responsible player.

Nazem is a good young player and if the Leafs have learned anything from past mistakes, they'll hold on to him while he improves and allow him to establish himself as an integral part of the Leafs' core.

Kadri on Washington would be a great fit.

Well this could be good news for Washington. With the leafs luck the lockout will last all year and the pick will end out being being a top 3

oh as in Washington would jump like 12 places in the draft lottery ... it kind of sounded like you were saying With Toronto's Luck our Draft pick would turn into a Top3 - meaning we traded our 1st and Kadri to Washington for their first lol ...

It was also for 2012 - which already happened - and we picked 5th lol

Valueing prospects is exactly like valuing stocks Kadri is having a good game, 2 seconds later its reported and his value skyrockets. Bad game? its down to a 3rd round pick.

People need to take an overall look at prospects to get a good idea

Itll be interesting too see if he can make the NHL this season, big year for him

Kadri also took one of the most selfish, undisciplined penalties I've seen tonight. Everyone knows the offensive talent is there, however it's still up for debate whether or not he has the attitude necessary for success at the highest level.

Prototypical boom or bust project.

Hilarious troll post. Kadri has NHL talent, and the desire and work ethic needed to win and succeed. Doubt the Leafs trade him anyway.

You are right but like in stocks there is some stocks you know will rise (Research In Motion.) and some that could pay off majorly or fail. Same as prospects. Kadri falls in the pay off majorly as he is not suited for 3rd line duties. Kadri will be a top 6 in the NHL or AHL. Unlike say a Joe Colborne who could become a 3rd/4th liner like Steckel if everything does not work out.

Lol no.

I'd want AT LEAST one of Gaudreau or Baertschi back for that package.

In bother words, leafs need quality, not quantity.

kadri has top 6 potential... hard to ignore... first rounder id say... maybe two 2nd rounders? i dunno if i was leafs gm id probably want more for a kid with such a high potential.... he could very well bust but i still see a top 6 centre on a team that has serious lack of depth top 6 talent at centre....

Kadri is a player that the leafs need. He's one of the most skilled players the leafs have and has the best hands. He's also the best forward prospect the leafs have right now. There's no point of trading him unless it's for an obvious upgrade. His great vision and playmaking skill would complement snipers.

JVR-Kadri-Kulemin/Frattin seems like a line that would click well.

honestly, Kadri's value is not very high, a late 1st would be generous imo

i appreciate your honesty.

are you able to offer any sort of facts as to why kadris value is not very high?

how do you consider his worth = late 1st? you might be right although i suspect that he is one of those prospects who is worth more to their organization then to others. i think if my choice was a late first or kadri i would take my chances with the nifty mittens. kids going to be a keeper.

I agree. It's certainly hard for anyone to argue to the contrary and I'm suspecting hero there won't offer up any convincing logic to his reasoning either.
