Crosby didn't play most of last year and the Pens still got over 100 points. If Lundqvist played 22 games where would the Rangers be?
Backstrom is the straw that stirs the drink in Washington. Their success had nothing to do with a a coaching change. Their season turned around when Backstrom got healthy.

Crosby has won Hart and captained team to Stanley Cup while having the highest PPG in essentially all years post lockout.
Ovechkin while he may be struggling now is a 2x Hart Winner, Calder Winner and Art Ross Winner in the past 6 years.
Lundqvist has one Vezina.
It really isn't that hard. Lundqvist is good, but he hasn't had an impact to a franchise like the two mentioned above for their respective teams.
We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Alexei Yashin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Are you serious or kidding because it is way too early to add Elias. In the Top 60 Forwards poll done recently, he was ranked 35, behind better players like St. Louis, Zetterberg, and Kopitar whom I haven't even added yet.
Edit: Noticed that you are Devils fan, so that must have been a homer vote.

Devils Homer vote ? I just voted for Lundqvist.
I've got no intention to derail this thread. Case closed.
Sorry about the confusion. I was referring to the "add Elias" comment as the homer vote for next player to add.
I know but I don't think I could be labeled as a Devils homer when I voted for a Ranger this round and the precedent poll as well. I also voted for Malkin in the 3rd best goalscorer thread when I could've gone with Kovalchuk easily. IK being my favorite player by the way.
Elias is an underrated 2 way center, I'm all ok with adding St.Louis, Zetterberg or Kopitar before Elias but he should follow soon after. But I don't think that will happen.
Datsyuk has scored above a PPG once, in the last three years, and he's coming up on his 35th birthday. 08-09 is long behind us. I think Lundqvist, Chara, Weber, and even Ovechkin are bigger impact players.
