What would you guys want from Boston. I think he would fit well on our third line with Kelly and Pevs. I've always wanted a physical presence on the third line as its the only one we don't really have that going on.

Giving Bourque a chance to turn his game around is much more important than some ****** draft pick. The "fans" who think he should be traded are probably the same ones who booed Roy or badmouthed Koivu, don't take them seriously.

or maybe some fans don't see him get advantage of the scenery with our media pulling him around like a bad minded one .... Montreal isn't a fit for him for a bounce back .... I do think that we can give him the choice to play or leave but cut the media out of his way for sure !!

C'mon, leave out Koivu or Roy.

More like we'll miss Bourque like we miss Pouliot or we'll miss Darche.

Ballard Raymond for Bourque Diaz

Swap of contracts and depth.
Both teams looking for a change and possible rebound in areas where they need. Mtl needs experience on D and someone to bring some physical presence from the left side.
Van adds depth in scoring ability and size. Rene can up his game when given a reason too. Playing on a contender could see him bump it up a notch again

Replace Diaz with Weber and I would do it.

I dont want draft picks for Bourque. This isnt a rebuild. I want to trade an inconsistent player with long contract for playes that would make this team more complete.

Are you seriously conmparing Bourque's situation to Roy and Koivu? And what are the odds that he finds his game under all this pressure in Montreal?

His only issue is his consistency which he showed a lack of last season

He's somewhat of a headcase but he will still contribute of 20 or so goals while not being relied upon to carry the offense. We had someone like that in our top 9 whom we could certainly use again...

Montreal doesn't want Ballard. Their already stuck with Kaberle.

They would add nothing. Actually not a bad trade.

I would absolutely love McQuaid on our second pairing.

If we need to we can move Kaberle or just leave him where he's playing now.. Things just keep getting better and better.

What would be a decent return? I was thinking something like Jamie McGinn and Ryan Wilson from Colorado. Good? If not what has to be added?
lol dude

he isn't getting either of those players straight up.

From the Sens, there isn't a single player I would take out of the lineup in favor of Bourque. That's without considering his huge price tag.

I'd ask my pro scouts and you just what the rationale for the 5th/3rd round swap... I'd angle towards opposing it. It's a lot of cap money coming to us on what otherwise isn't clearly a lopsided deal. But end of the day, if I had convincing arguments presented it wouldn't be a hold up, looks like a fine change of scenery deal.

NOT QUAIDER!
He's one of my favorite B's and while the value is good CJ knows all too well how a couple of injuries on the blue line can really cripple a team. You see it with the additions last year(mottau and zanon) and the year before(Hnidy). I was more looking at a pick and/or prospect but if you guys would rather keep them then i can understand.

Right now, that would be a deal that could go through. Personally, I think Bourque is more of a fit than Ballard.
Ya but out of the 27 goals he got at least 10 of them were empty net goals. I'm not kidding. I watch every flames game and the only time Bourque would be a mad dog on the ice was when the goalie was pulled. I still have a mug in my wall where I threw it out of frustration from bourque. after watching him for 4 years I realized his stats dont reflect the player he is at all. He is a very talented gritty player who play's maybe 20 out of the 82 games each year. He is one of the most wasted talents in the league. Kelly Hrudy called him out on national television for his laziness. If he put in half the work he does when there is an empty net he would be a 70 point player

Had him for what 38 games? Ofcourse he wont be missed. The "kneejerks" in the crowd were spouting off this nonsense seconds after the trade was done simply because of the irrational hatred of Gauthier. Now Gauthiers moves are coming to fruition they are becoming a little quieter.

I am comparing the same spastic reaction to slumps you see constantly with the so called "true" fans of the habs and the things they hold dear. He was acquired by Gauthier so that is a -1, he isn't french so that is a -1, he only had 18 goals and below his high 20's average so that is a -1. How the **** do you know he is inconsistant when he has been with the habs for 38 games under 2 coaches that don't belong in the NHL?

It is the same nonsense with Kaberle and the people who want him bought out.
