As much as it pains me to say being a Terrier fan...I 100% agree.

He's absolutely a dynamic player who just always seems to be making plays whenever I see him. I expect Gaudreau to make a name for himself in the WJC.

I think the good thing will be that Russia won't have a clear MVP. It's awell rounded team where everybody will carry the load.

I wouldn't be surprised if fellow Florida Panthers prospect Rocco Grimaldi is in contention for MVP for team USA. Even though he's 5-6, he's got the heart and determination of someone that's either 6-2 or 6-3.

Canada has lots of great players. I could see one of RNH's wingers getting a lot of goals, which could just be Scheifile. Personally, I'm hoping Subban will be our MVP, unlike some very un-MVP goaltending performances of late.

Same. Goaltending has been terrible for Canada in this tournament ever since 2008. Hopefully, Subban is the MVP... which likely means that Canada wins Gold. In 2009, the roster was very strong and was able to overcome this thanks to Eberle and Tavares. The last three years....well, everyone knows what happened.

Canada : RNH No use denying his talent. And he'll be surrounded by plenty of it.

USA: Gibson if he can return to form on time. Guy can absolutely dominate games with a pretty thin defense in front of him, won't have that problem with Jones and Trouba. He's got the calm, athleticsim, and overall talent to carry this USA team. He's been known to let in softies at times (see last year's 4 goal blowout) but I think he's grown since then and it doesn't rattle him quite as much. if not him then I'm gonna say Gally or Grimaldi.

Russia: Grigorenko. No injuries. No excuses. The kid is absolutely on fire and if representing his country can light him up even more he should dominate. If not him than Yakupov.

Sweden: Hampus Lindholm even in poor form he's still Norfolk's best defenseman in his own zone (Vatanen is better offensively). He's very rarely caught out of position, he can run/lead the team D, he's effective on the point on the powerplay, and his stretch passes are incredible. He's given so many of his teammates breakaway opportunities and they just don't know how to put it away. Should be pivotal for Sweden's D and he'll be healthy and back to form by the time the tournament starts. If not him then I can see Forsberg and Karlsson making magic together.

Czech Republic: Frk. Not really familiar with the Czech team, but I know Frk's a skilled dude.

Latvia: Girgensons ditto for Latvia, I know even less, but Girgensons was good enough to go in the middle of that last draft and he's got the talent and defensive ability to surprise opponents who don't take Latvia seriously.

Finland: Barkov. The way he's playing right now, there should be no one else considered. Personally I'm very high on him (like if I was picking first, at this point I'd strongly consider taking Barkov instead of Mackinnon) but I mean...who's been better than him on the Finland squad? I guess Armia could come up big and ditto Teravainen, but Barkov in my eyes is in a class of his own.

Without letting my preference for Hampus get in the way too much, I agree. I really think that Sweden is going to need Hampus to have a great tournament if they are going to have success. It's not that Hampus is the best player on Sweden, but he's undeniably one of the most important players.
