Had a great time at the game on Friday. Unfortunately, it clearly wasn't Gally's best effort. 3 games in 3 nights, and it clearly showed that he didn't have much in the tank.

Even though he didn't stand out as much as usual though, you can still tell that he's clearly the most skilled player on the ice. Like my buddy put it, it's as if he's just too advanced for his linemates. One thing he will have to learn, is to stop relying so much on that damn drop pass. That crap won't work at the pro level as much as it does in the OHL, and even during this game his drop passes got picked off quite a few times. His play definitely improved as the game went on, but he was sluggish all night. Not much effort on the back check either. Hey, he's allowed a bad game every now and then. Just not too often. I had planned on doing a big write up on his game, but in all honesty there wasn't too much to write about.

Vail had a strong night defensively. Great pass that lead to a goal. In person though, his skating looks even more awkward. Not that he's a bad skater, he just has an awkward skating stride. I was very impressed by Josh Ho-Sang. I think he'll definitely be a player.

Oh, and I love me some Nik Goldobin.

Nikandrov from Goldobin makes it 1-0 Sting.

Teddy Bear toss day is one of the coolest things in Junior hockey.

Awards:
1st period;
7 shifts, 8:51 TOI
2 takeaways, 1-for-1 in the face-off circle

A much better start to the game and first period for Galchenyuk, as well as the entire Sarnia team. They got a few good chances, Galchenyuk missing the puck on a few occasions.

The line that will never be broken up hasn't scored an even strength goal in almost 4 games now.

With Beaulieu in charge it would probably take 14 games before he breaks them up.

Great sequence on the PK by Gally. Wasted a lot of time and got a sweet scoring that Murray robbed him on.

Bust.

Trade him for a 3rd round pick. Let's hope we can bargain a high one.

2nd period;
6 shifts, 7:37 TOI.
5 shots on net, 1 turnover, lost a face-off putting him to 1-for-2 on the night.

Great period for Gally, only thing that is missing is the finish. That dangle that he pulled while on the PK got the crowd buzzing. A few moments later on the same shift, Boucher got it out to him in the slot, but Murray robbed him with a flashy glove save. I predict he'll put up a point or two in the 3rd period.

Boucher rips one on the pp, Sarault and Basso assist. None for Galchenyuk
2-1 7:50 left in the third
Edit:
Galchenyuk scores!! nice one!
I was just about to say if Galchenyuk doesn't get a point today, it will be the first time he goes pointless in back-to-back games this season.

So Gally tried "in front of the net" instead of around it...
