Scratch Halifax off the list, Huberdeau's supposed final game as a Seadog ended with him tossed for manhandling a linesman to get in scrap, was going after Frk, ended up with Weegar. Has have 4 fights in his career, & 2 of them were this year, against Halifax. Hopefully he won't be suspended through the World Juniors.....

I don't think Halifax was ever in on him.. Too deep up top.

And I don't think he'd pass up the opportunity to play with Nate and Jo because of Weegar lol..

Probably not even in our price range anyways.

I agree, you guys need depth on D and a 3rd liner.. Not Jo.

Second liners actually, and some heart players, which would probably be third liners... Alexandre Roy on Chicoutimi is a guy that no one talks about acquiring but I could see him fitting in our bottom 6...

And there can only be one Jo! He can be Hube.

Huberdeau's "Abuse of Official" call was later retracted for what it's worth

There has to be a conditional deal made for Huberdeau. From what I've seen if him this year, & assuming the NHL still allows junior eligibles to be returned after 9 games, unless he does a 360, & as long as he is the property of a contender, he will be returned to junior this year after 9 games. Who is going to roll the dice, & what will the conditional deal be?

Florida has said that Huberdeau will be a Panther this season.

Sucks for SJ....but you wont find much sympathy around the league
you did alright with Huberdeau, considering he was going the college route....along with Tesink, durepos, Gagne...etc..etc..etc..

Well having our first back will help us, we got a few picks.. Next year we can trade Auger... No way we can contend in 2015.

you have a full compliment of picks, and you have some good young players. And you have $$....the rebuild will be faster than most think. Just dont make it too fast (ask the wildcats how that's working out)

It's possible... But to really contend we would need a Noel and a Sprong... Playing games will cost us...

Sprong will play in the Q... So it's not like we can manipulate for him... Noel maybe...

Deschenes ? Roy ?

Anyone have a list of our picks ?

even if they are commited to the Q, it doesnt stop teams from playing games! The players manipulate where they want to go. Durepos was never going anywhere but the Q, Tesink the same.

they'll make it happen. You have a couple of first round picks, and the rest of your picks. a couple extra picks late in the draft.

Ahh, maybe we get Sprong and Noel ? Would give us a great 1-2 punch... Plus we would already have Highmore.

Tell me, why in the world would the Sea Dogs trade Auger? Who's taking his place, Alex Fournier??

You need a strong goalie to make a run. Auger is still somewhat unproven, but is making believers out of critics every day. He'll be 20 in 2015. Perfect.

So why trade him?

Because you can get something and because we won't be ready in 2015.

I'd still hang onto him. Still have to have a team on the ice. He'll still have value next year if need be. The best chance at the mem cup birth is Halifax who are already set in goal. Doubt the market for an 18yr old goalie this season will be greater than next year when teams might stand a better chance of beating halifax

That's true, I didn't think of that.

What makes you say that...I wouldn't be surprised to see Saint John make a bid for the 2015 Memorial Cup.

Auger as a 20 leading the way...guys like Highmore, Leblanc, Cooper, Smallman, Zilbert, Cuomo will all be 18/19...Throw in a guy like Noel next year, a couple of high end euros and fill in a couple of holes as needed in 2 years time.
