WOW! In my 16 team TD only league I just won by 1 point to win finish 6-6 win my division and secure a 1st round BYE.
I was up 31 going into tonight, I was done, he had Nelson, Bradshaw and Tynes, who got him 30.
I also started Hillman over R.Jennings and had Ray Rice and Andre Roberts fall 3 and 8 yards respectively of 100 which would have been 12 total points instead of 0.
The BYE is huge for me as by Week 14 I should have Harvin and Murray back. Also by winning the division, I get a home field bonus throughout the playoffs. I think it's either 5 or 10 points.
I was up by 4, no players left, the other guy had one player on MNF, D. Williams, only scored 2 pts. Now, I am tied for #1 and we get to break the tie next week.
This is my first year playing fantasy football and I play in a 16 team league.
I started my fantasy season 1-4. I lost my first three games by 11, 12, and 3 points before I finally won a game by about 9 points in week 4, only to get utterly blown out in week 5 by 69 points. I had the top waiver wire priority for most of this period, which did me very little good as most of the talent was drained from the free agent pool already, and the players I was picking up were either one-game wonders, or had already lit up and burned out by the time I got to them. I was feeling pretty demoralized and pondering a rage quit.
Since then I am 6-1, my margin of victory seems to be growing every week with victory margins of 25, 43, and 71 points in the past three weeks. A couple of the guys I drafted have turned it around in a big way just as I was ready to give up on them. I picked up Cecil Shorts in week 7 and he has been OUTSTANDING, and it seems like a couple of my guys have unexpectedly huge nights every week now.
With a 4 game winning streak coming into this week, I am facing my leagues #1 team.
And as of this moment I am leading 127-72 with both of us having one player to go on monday night. And if my guy has a big night and his has nothing, I could have a margin of victory even bigger than last week's total, and come away with my leagues biggest blowout award two weeks in a row.
So the message here is don't give up no matter how bad the season starts. Things can turn around in a hurry.
Gotta love it when your team is in the playoffs, and it's because of pure luck...your point total sucks, but you just got really lucky matchups so many weeks
I'm sitting at 6-7. I need a win and all other match-ups need to happen just right for me to make it, since it would coincide with a 4 way tie for 4th and I'd get in based on tie-breakers.
I had Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, Mike Wallace, DeMarco Murray, Knowshon Moreno, Matt Prater, and the Browns D. But because Bryce Brown got 0 points...I'm going to lose since my opponent had VJax, Ryan, Doug Martin, Wayne, and Seattle D.
**** you Bryce Brown. 143 points, would have beaten any other team...had I played Kenny Britt instead in the flex I'd be in good shape (he still has Leshoure to go)...
Needed AJ Green and Brees to show up to combat Eli Manning and Brandon Marshall...that didnt happen. Oh and he happened to have AP too..out in the first round -_-
Incredible weekend. Taking a 23.25 point lead into the back end of the two week matchup, I survived the Cam/Doug Martin onslaught and should coast into the finals in my 2qb contract league.
Tied for 3rd (Tiebreak leaves me in 5th) with playoffs beginning next week. Had to win and I'm up against 1st place, started Luck and Bryce Brown over Newton/Morris (ouch). 3rd and 4th place lost their games, and I sit ahead of my opponent by 23 points. He has Foster+A. Johnson, I have A. Hernandez.
snuck into the playoffs in the 4 spot at the very last minute...won a tie breaker by 3 points, the now 5th place team had Houston D which was -2 points
the first place team is stacked but just happy to get in so expectantly.
Thank you Tom Brady for trouncing the Texans D tonight. With that, I took control of my playoff match-up (two weeks per match-up) after entering tonight down by a few points and with only Shayne Graham playing for my team.
But, in my other league, I qualified for the playoffs, which I am also happy about after starting 2-4 in that league and not looking so hot.
Despite a list of bonehead moves and bad weeks (benching Newton for Luck, benching Brown for Morris, AJ Green's stinker) I beat 1st place, going into the playoffs against them again next week.
