I've said this before and I'll say it again...stick Tedenby with Josefson!!! Josefson is fantastic defensively so he can cover any shortcomings Teddy will do. Plus, he can teach him because they've been friends for years! They have great chemistry and maybe they are the missing pieces for each other to break out!

Tedenby and Josefson had some good chemistry together with Clarkson. I wouldn't mind that being the third line for the start of the season. Tedenby has to earn the spot though.

He decided he didn't want to pursue hockey as a career anymore.

I have a bad feeling if there's a buyout which it looks like there could be, that Lou signs Gomez. Especially if the season starts before Henrique is back. I'd be pretty pissed if he's signed over Sykora. He would be a solid 4th line center for a salary like Gio's/Carter. That's if we didn't have Gio or Carter.

If Lou even wants anything to do with him then he's Gomer's only salvation at this point, or it's probably off to Uniondale with him, or retire. Pretty sure he already blocked out a trade there. I can't see a demand for him. At least not a serious contender, and I can't see anyone wanting to pay him what he thinks he should get paid. Would like Lecavalier if TB buys him out, but He'll be too expensive.

The almost Brent Burns trade randomly popped in my head tonight, not insane about the contract the Sharks gave him but man I'd still like to have him here.

I'd take a chance on Gomer at 2-3 mill not a problem.

I would not warm up to him quickly, but if he came cheap and worked in his role, I'd be fine with it.

at nearly 6 million im not very psyched about the idea of that, especially since it cost them what was at most a 17th pick and setoguchi and coyle for him and a 2nd. we almost payed less for kovy. Also, i hear hes a bit of a free spirit and not much of the conformist type lou looks for when picking people for his dictatorship.

I'd welcome him back at that price. I think he and Kovy could work some magic. He'd be that puck carrying, great passing center that would open ice for Kovy and take the pressure off. Kovy wouldn't have to go end to end anymore. He could find holes, get to top speed and wait for the pass.

He's a train wreck defensively.

Of course you wouldn't want him I think a lot of people will let their hated of what he did cloud their judgement. If you honestly think he's totally done than so be it. I don't share that opinion.

He completely lost his confidence in the goal scoring department, no doubt. But he still has wheels. Good wheels. He can still carry the puck end to end. He's still a great passer of the puck. He still has great vision and anticipation. He can still play. Put him on a line with a finisher as lethal as Kovalchuk and I think you have a dynamite line regardless of the third forward (though this person should probably be defensively responsible).

I'm honestly not as opposed to having Gomez back as I thought I'd be, but...

Even for $2 - $3 million, I think we could do a lot better for that money.

I would take Gomer back at 2.5. His end to end rushes led to so many goals when he was here. He could definitely thrive with a winger like Kovy.

I think its going to take people maybe 3-4 weeks to see how terrible our offensive depth is, and change their tune about gomer mighty quick. I would take him right now at the right price.

What was that? I remember the Devils had interest but I don't remember seeing any proposals.

If we get Gomez, it's more of a low-risk why not type signing. You give him third line minutes, and you basically tell him, you impress you earn an extension, if you play terribly, your career is over. He seems like the player that would mesh pretty well with Kovalchuk, and honestly, we haven't really had anyone that has. Some have played well but they've never meshed the way Parise-Zajac or Elias-Arnott-Sykora etc. have. Once Kovalchuk gets a Devils player like that, he'd be unbelievably good.

Gomez would likely come here on a deal less than 2 million, might even be under 1 million. I would definitely think he should warrant a training camp invite in the way Sykora did.

He might be worth a shot... but there's a decent crop of UFAs coming up, especially considering the cap is likely to come down, there'll be a handful of buyouts and GMs will be trying to shed contracts left and right. The money is better off spent elsewhere.

ive kinda thought the same thing possibly, but at the same time im not getting too wrapped up in it. at the right price though i wouldnt have any objection to bringing him back. but i also dont think there are gonna be any free-ride buyouts either.
