Price is a free agent in 2016. Also acquiring Reyes, Johnson Cabrera isn't magical?

Oh thought he was a FA next offseason.

I mean magical as in... we need to take advantage of being the best team on paper in our division this year right now. I am happy as **** with what AA has done. Also love that TB traded 2 of there top starters.

Vladimir Tarasenko or Dougie Hamilton? He's considered a top five prospect in baseball, so just insert one of the top five prospects in hockey, I guess.

Will Myers and Morgan Rielly would hold similar trade value.

Just while everyone is on the subject; Wil Myers is considered by some experts the best hitting prospect in baseball. In the PCL last year, his metrics were .400 wOBA, 137 wRC+, and .250 ISO.

The Blue Jays top prospect Travis d'Arnaud's PCL numbers last year: .415 wOBA, 147 wRC+, .262 ISO. He also struck out less frequently than Myers. That should help paint a picture of how special the young catcher is.

This is one of those Proven talent vs question marks. I always like to proven talent side.

KC has a solid rotation now and wont be a joke like they normally are.

Sheilds
Davis
Santana
Guthrie

The only sure thing in that rotation is Sheilds. The rest of the staff are big time question marks.

Solid rotation? Other than Shields, all those guys are very mediocre.

It's kinda hard to see them legitimately contending unless a lot of things break their way and Moustakas/Hosmer see breakout season(s).

I still see them over paying for a guy like Anibal Sanchez or Edwin Jackson to add another solid starter. If they get one of those guys, then its becomes a decent rotation.

Keep in mind the Royals play in a division that is not so strong, if 3 of those pitchers can eat 200IP each they will contend for the division. Especially if shields can match his performance this year.

As many others have said... That rotation has less high end talent and more question marks than our rotation does.

I think JJ and Morrow both have the potential to put up numbers as good or better than Shields. Beyond that I'd take every single one of our starters over their three... including Happ. Santana and Guthrie have been down right terrible recently, and while I like Davis he hasn't been a full time starter for over a full season.

All I see there is James Shields, two #5 starters, and a guy who was so wretched in 2012, he had 1.4 less WAR than Ricky Romero. Yes, that Ricky Romero.

Yea i really see them doing something like that, otherwise they wouldn't have just gave up such quality prospects for 2 years of james shield.

Maybe even Hamilton + Sanchez? That'd be a real upgrade.

greinke hasn't pitched for the royals since 2010. And they're a much different team now than they were then

I think they added a very good top of the rotation and a very solid mid-rotation starter.

I think they're going to be fine. I love their young talent on the field as well. I'm a fan of Hosmer, Moustakas, Gordon and Butler.

I feel they are a similar team to us but we have a better base of established talent.

Asking 3 guys in a rotation to eat 200 IP is delusional considering how few 200 IP there are in baseball. The Royals are also in a division that saw the Tigers underachieve for much of the year and have Victor Martinez returning and Torii Hunter in the fold. If they can re-sign Sanchez I don't see how the Royals would contend with Detroit, heck even Chicago is better.

kyle drabek ‏@kyledrabek4
Finally got to throw and it went good... It was definitely scary haha

Drabek updating his own rehab. Good sign, hopefully he continues to progress without setbacks.

I think at this point if Drabek can become a effectively wild high leverage reliever I will be happy.
