At what point do you think the Leafs ask Petter Granberg to come to North America?
The lockout might have impacted his decision, but I would think that he would be better suited to come and experience the North American game because he isn't getting any playing time in the SEL.

You do realize he had a very serious injury which required surgery and he's out for the season right?
I'd love to hear some specifics on Ryan Rupert and Toninato if anyone can share.
I'd also love to hear about Ross/McKegg/Abbott and their rookie progress so far. How do things look for them? #s on the first two seem underwhelming
R Rupert is mostly a pest. He plays well defensively (he is very often on the ice protecting a 1 goal lead in the final minute of play). More of a playmaker. Already said it but he really gets under people's skin. I remember at the Mem Cup last year Huber took a run at him (taking a penalty) less than a minute into the game based off a reputation just to send a message that he wasn't going to let him get under his skin (to me Rupert got mission accomplished though since Huber went to the box ). Rupert won't wow you offensively which I think he will have to start doing a little if he wants to make it to the NHL because he is pretty small.
Quotes from Don Cherry. Lumping them all into one quote.
Quote:
Don Cherry, @CoachesCornerCBC Jake Gardiner of the Toronto Marlies is not only the best defenceman but hes the best player in the American Hockey League that i have seen. 9Goals 17 points so far this season. He got blind sided on a late hit the other night. You've got to let him go the way Eakins has. He's an american, he's big, got nice hands and an edge in his play. Looks like a lot of character, and the captain.
Looks like Don may have actually written this one himself. LMAO.
You'll all notice that Everson is no longer on Harvard's roster. From what I'm getting through the grapevine, Everson has left the team and is supposedly going to join the Omaha Lancers (USHL) soon.
Please do not take this as written in stone just yet since the source that I'm getting this from is one that I don't consider a "reliable" one. I'm just passing along some talk that's out there right now.
If this does turn out to be legit and I can provide a link to it, I'll be sure to do so and let you all know.

"BU redshirt sophomore forward Yasin Cisse, Northeastern sophomore forward Joseph Manno, Harvard sophomore goaltender Steve Michalek and Harvard sophomore defenseman Max Everson have all opted to leave their respective teams to pursue other hockey interests."
Just to confuse you all even more on the Everson situation....his departure from Harvard may just be "temporary" according to one of his (now former) teammates.
You can read about it HERE. (You'll have to scroll down because it's near the bottom of the article.)
That'd be interesting. I've been intrigued by Everson since the day he was drafted. He seemed like dropped quite a bit on draft day, compared to where he was slated to go and all the accolades he had received during his final year in the Minny high school hockey.
This is purely speculation, and I'm honestly judging this from his interviews, but he seemed like a real dick, and I think that's part of the reason he dropped. The only explanation I have for Burke drafting him despite the character is that he's an Edina HS boy Burke loves his guys from Edina.

Reason: Lack proof - definitive evidence so we won't post speculation.

Does anyone in the CHL have his rights?
He's only 19, so he wouldn't count against any overager rules. Don't know if anyone will claim him if he doesn't have his rights somewhere.

If the plagiarism thing is true, then it further solidifies my belief that people didn't like his character. From his draft day interviews he seemed like a harmless and shy kid to me. I didn't think he came off like a dick at all.
