That is what im hoping happens.

Apart from that, a NI C to slot between Rottier and Wojt.

A guy like Johnny Sears to replace Williams.

I still want one more LBer but not sure thats possible
The Esks are likely to make a trade offer for Reilly's rights and Dixon may sign here.

Not bad. Be interesting to see if Reilly comes cheap as a result of the bend over we took earlier.

Man, Larry Taylor would look good in an Eskies uniform running back kicks. Would love to see Solomon Elominian line up beside Sherritt. Two speed demons all over the field. Jonathan Hefney replacing Rod Williams, Mike Reilly and Matt Nichols duking it out for #1 (on merit this time) with Dixon as the understudy, learning the game patiently. And Kyle Koch retiring, opening up the door for a competent NI centre.

Please Santa......make it be so.

Agree with everything except Hefney. Didn't like his play much this year. I think he really had a kind of year when he's in the lineup he's trying to do too much and get caught out of position. He dropped a lot of his coverage this year. Not sure whats wrong with him. Year before he was awesome.

No doubt he sucked this year, but I think it was an off year, and as you say, he tried to do too much. This may help in signing him for cheaper. They had a bunch of guys with years like that, including Jovon Johnson. Let's face it, if he can at least stand up and get in someone's way, he's an upgrade over Rod Williams.

I'm hearing fourth or fifth rounder for his rights. Then we fly him in and tour him around the field house, etc.

If what I heard is true it will be more about telling him the starter position is open.

Good news on Hill. One of the numerous defensive starters we needed to re-sign. Now onto the other 7....

I am glad Hervey is the guy, but these tweets make me sick to my stomach. I want to know who Reed's backers are within the organization.

Hervey's experience as a scout, overseeing the draft and signing some contracts over past year gave him the edge over Reed.

As much of a no-brainer as it seemed to be, it was surely agonizing for the Eskimos brass to choose. Kavis Reed very highly thought of.

no doubt.
from all the previous talk from upper management, it seems Hervey will be stuck with Reed as coach next year.
for better or worse, we'll see how Reed does with no excuses.

By all accounts Hervey has a great rapport with the guys in the lockerroom. I'll be really surprised if we don't retain the brunt of our UFA's now.

A total joke that Rick Lelachuer was in on this at all. Awful.
A total joke that Kavis Reed was even mentioned as a possibility. Awful

Hervey was the right choice but what he doees going forward re the coaching is going to determine if he is a good gm or not in the end. I'm resigned to the fact Reed is here next year but he better improve a hell of a lot.

If Reed is here Im not watching.

You can be sure if he is here, Joseph will be too.

Have fun with that.

Congrats to Hervey though.

Hoping he gasses the coach who let the punt team take the field without the punter.

pretty much this for me, although I suspect he has zero say in Reed being here next year. It actually sucks because Rhodes seems to be a huge Reed fan.

I'm happy to give Reed another year. Last year was a circus and Reed is only a small part of it. The ringmaster, who hung Reed out to dry, is gone and so lets see what happens from here on out.

Hervey gives Reed a vote of confidence.

Agreed. Last year, Reed was highly thought of for the teams surprising performance.
