Some others who may have a decent shot are forwards Sven Ziegler (EBB), Denis Shevyrin (KEV), Eric Gollenbeck (MJA), and defenseman Dominik Tiffels (MJA).

Kaufbeuren's Markus Eisenschmid was thought of as a strong possibility heading into the season, but his start was modest (not bad) and now he's injured, I believe.

I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that Dman Tim Bender (MJA) is at least brought along for the ride as one of the 8 or 9 Dmen.

Unfortunately for Germany, Yasin Ehliz just barely misses the cut agewise. He's been very good taking a fairly regular shift in the DEL this season, well on his way to a 25 point season.
Ehliz would have been a great asset for this team, but unfortunately he is a couple of days too old.
I agree about Bender and the other players you named, but some of the players you haven't bolded should be there as well. In particular I think that forward Marcel Kurth, goalie Philip Lehr and defensemen Manuel Kindl and Maximilian Faber will make the roster, if they're healthy.

Another player I hope to see on the roster is Patrick Klöpper.

About your other post:
I guess you mean DEL instead of SEL. It would be great if we had such young players playing in the SEL, but that's not gonna happen any time soon.

NHL.com name the 28 players invited to the camp.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=647175

Goalies: Louis-Vincent Albrecht, Dresden, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Marvin Cüpper, Shawinigan, QMJHL (2013 draft eligible), Patrick Klein, Dusseldorf Jr., Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Philip Lehr, Eisbaren Berlin, Germany (2013 draft eligible)

Defensemen: Nico Ehmann, Eisbaren Berlin Jr., Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Henry Haase, Eisbaren Berlin, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Lukas Jentsch, Fussen, Germany 3 (2013 draft eligible), Manuel Kindl, Augsburg, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Stephan Kronthaler, Landshut, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Oliver Mebus, EHC Krefeld, Germany 3 (2013 draft eligible), Max Meirandres, Rosenheim, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Dominik Tiffels, Mannheim Jr., Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Alexander Winkler, Kaufbeuren, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible)

Forwards: Alexander Ackermann, Heilbronn, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Dominik Daxlberger, Rosenheim Jr., Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Daniel Fischbuch, Dusseldorf, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Lars Grözinger, Crimmitschau, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Maximillian Kastner, Riessersee, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Florin Ketterer, Bad Tolz Jr. Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Christian Kretschmann, Krefeld, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Marcel Kurth, Heilbronn, Germany 2 (2013 draft eligible), Nikolas Latta, Sarnia, OHL (2013 draft eligible), Andreas Pauli, EHC Munchen, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Leo Pföderl, Nurnberg, Germany (2013 draft eligible), Tobias Rieder, Kitchener, OHL (Oilers), Huba Sekesi, Bad Tolz, Germany 3 (2013 draft eligible), Felix Sollner, Regensburg Jr. Germany Jr. (2013 draft eligible), Sebastian Uvira, Oshawa, OHL (2013 draft eligible)

For some reason Dominik Kahun is missing here. Odd if they deem him too young when he's actually performing in the OHL, something their other guys in the CHL aint, except the goalie.

There are a few things I don't get.

- No Kahun or Draisaitl (I feared this might happen, but I still don't understand it.
- I thought Rieder's injury would keep him out but he is on the list.
- No Patrick Klöpper who has played in the DEL this year but instead there are guys like Ketterer, Sekesi or Söllner.
- This might be the Berlin homer in me talking but Jentsch over Faber is another thing I don't get.

Division 1a next year will be interesting.

I feel like there may be some mistakes in that roster... for one it is missing Frederick Tiffels, who was confirmed to be attending their camp, but is missing. i am going to wait until I see an official announcement from DEB before I freak out about the list

Yeah, come to think of it NHL.com is pretty lousy at reporting about international hockey.

Not at all. That statement was not meant seriously. It was just my way of venting my disbelief at that roster if it should turn out to be accurate.

I still think they can avoid relegation, but it will probably come down to one deciding game, and it will come down to how the goalies perform.

I think they just took the roster from the DEB website.
But that roster has nothing to do with the WJC, but was probably just the roster from one of the last games the U20 team has played this year.

Now that you point that out I have no doubt that list is wrong... typical NHL.com on international hockey. That roster has been the same since July/August I believe. The German camp doesnt start until the 15th so there is still plenty of time for the announcement.

And that's likely the reason that 1) Draisaitl or Kahun won't be on the team and 2) the team will be relegated again.

Bad. Coach. Period.

I don't believe he has.
On another note, I am hoping to see an official announcement on the camp roster tomorrow.

That article and the one in regards to Frederick Tiffels officially demonstrates how bogus that NHL.com list is. I wish they could do a little better research! But Draisaitl is in! Das ist gut! Vielen Dank

The team is far from being finalized.

Like a few other countries, one of Germany's biggest problems in preparing for this tournament is getting a group togther that practices together, gets a few lines together that display chemistry, and implementing systems. There's just not much time. In fact, the coach can only hope to have about 10-13 players who have some experience together.

At the tourney in Garmisch-Partenkirchen last year at this time Germany brought in 9 or 10 kids from Canadian juniors. That was just to earn promotion.

It would difficult to imagine that the team would now - on the big stage - not go with the kids currently playing in North America, especially considering they are amongst the best the age group has to offer.

The tourney is going to be real tough. No matter who is there, chances are that the team will have great problems mustering the offense necessary to keep up with teams like Canada, Russia and the USA (just looking at the initial round).

However, as stated above, just about the entire team will consist of players currently playing in NA or against men in pro leagues. They will need to play with an edge, a chip on their shoulders.

Yep, no need to worry about what NHL.com has posted. In this case, Germany simply hasn't provided any concrete info to date.

Other sources are frantically looking for something in light of the official news coming from the bigger name countries.
