"With the 1st overall selection in the 2013 draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins are proud to select...Nikita Zadorov".
Really though, if we even got into the top 10, we'd have a chance at a legit franchise talent. That'd be incredible.
Another one? Isn't 4 (Flower, Malkin, Sid, Letang) enough? I've seen some people put Domi at around the 20th pick, if we would get him, it would be incredible. I can see it now:
"With the 1st overall pick, the Penguins select another offensive-oriented, puck moving defenseman."
Given that Tie Domi and Mario are also longtime friends, Mario probably has a vry good idea the kind of kid Max Domi is and wouldn't be surprised if it plays a big role in luring him in. I could definitely see that happening...
I wonder if Max would be open to shifting over to the wing
He shot it I think. In the subway super series DP did wow me with his end to end rushes.are u saying domi is only gonna be a third liner or that ferraro guy? Has any one looked at the whl defensivemen top scorers DP has more points than Reilly in like 2 or 3 less game
No, I'm just saying while I think Domi is talented, there is nothing dominant about his game.
You just never know how guys like him will pan out.
If he can translate his game to the NHL, he could be an exciting player to watch.
He is only a few points away from reaching his point totals from last season, with only about half the season played. So that is obviously encouraging.
But of course, even 3 is enough. Unless you get the opportunity to draft another, in which case you'd be stupid not to.
I disagree, I think he's a big part of our core, and he's the 2nd best goalie in Pens history with a chance to become the best goalie in Penguins history, I would consider him a franchise goalie.
Now don't get me wrong, he's no Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, etc. But he is Pittsburgh's franchise goalie.

Ya I think he'll be a top 6 guy one day. On this pace he is looking at getting about 80 or 90 points. Like 25 or 30 goals and like 55 or 60 assits. Not a bad season. When do you think Bennett will be ready? I think he'll get a shot next year.

I heard somewhere that he would most likely play on the wing in the NHL, whichever team he goes to.
Pens are not winning the draft lottery, and I don't see them winning a high pick either, their pick will be between 20 and 30.
If Domi is around when we pick, I can see the Penguins picking him, I'm not familiar with this draft class other than Jones, McKinnon, and Domi.
Ya I saw domi play he is pretty good. I really would like the pens to get hunter shinkurak but he will probe go top 10 but you never now with this lockout if they do a lottery the pens could be picking 1st overral. The would probe pick Jones then I would start a riot...

If the lockout continues, there's literally no way of knowing where we'll end up in the draft order, so I don't know why people would be assuming we'd be picking in the 20s, or that we'd have to trade up to get a certain player.
Were you people not following hockey during the last lockout? If we remain locked out and the NHL uses a similar weighted lottery, anyone can place anywhere.

Well, we are making an educated guess based on our previous like 5 picks or so. We always seem to be picking in the lower-20s, so saying around 20 isn't that far of a stretch. I don't think we will get a pick above like 18, unless we trade up. But who knows, maybe we end up at like 12 (even though that probably won't happen). How exactly did they do the draft lottery last time?

We have had picks in the 20 range the last couple of years because of our early playoff exits. I suggest reading about the 2005 lottery since I'm assuming that's how the 2013 will be structured like if there isn't a season.
