International TournamentsDiscuss International Tournaments like the WJC, Olympics, and World Cup, as they take place, or discuss past tournaments. performances.
Figure there should be a thread for the lower divisions of the World Juniors. Division IA and IB starts December 9 and 10, respectively, while Division IIA begins on the 15th. Division IIB and Division III are both in January.
And for anyone unfamiliar, the IIHF is continuing their system from last year. So one team from each group is promoted, while one is demoted. Thus the winner of Div IA will join the top level next year, while the loser goes to Div IB and so forth.
Edit: Since this is stickied, I'll make an effort to post the standings for each group here. Update will come sometime after the conclusion of each game day.

Reason: Updated through December 16
Is there any place that streams of these games would be available?
And are there players worth watching? Obviously Bjorkstrand for Denmark
The two 95 borns for Norway, Mattias Nørstebø and Markus Søberg. Nørstebø has already gotten some SEL time with Brynäs and Søberg has had solid SuperElit and overall junior stats for Frölunda.
Denmark's captain Patrick Russell although older is a solid player and constant producer. They have Thomas Spelling who's a Rangers draft pick and has seen some SEL time but mostly is one of the better SuperElit players. Denmark also has -13 eligible Mads Eller, littlebrother of Lars Eller.
Why isn't Nicklas Jensen playing for Danes? He's still eligible, isn't he?

Declined to participate...
Most probably due to the fact that he wants to be healthy and fresh for Denmarks OG qualification.
Bjorkstrand, Spelling (NYR), Eller for Denmark, Gavrus (Devils) on Belarus, Steffen Soberg (Capitals) on Norway and Repe on Slovenia. Is Bozon (Canadiens) playing for France?
Zinchenko on Kazakhstan, Zhakarov and Martyshko on Ukraine.

Bozon's brother, Kevin, was on the entry list for France, but was cut. Tim was not added to the team at all.
Heh, no chance in hell. France isn't nearly good enough to be only missing one part to make it to the elite.
Agreed. At best, Bozon would probably help France stay in the middle of their group; not good enough to get promoted, but not bad enough to be relegated. They need a few players of his quality if they are serious about going to the elite division.
My thinking is France finishes second last, with Austria being relegated, and Bozon might've pushed them to place fourth or maybe third, if stars aligned on the day they faced Norway or Denmark. This, of course is, only a prediction, and I just hope I don't have to eat crow if Slovenia gets relegated
Denmark beat Austria 8-3 Today, im confused about this team..
We are very weak in goal, but very strong upfront.. Don't know what to expect against Bel and Nor...
Which team are you confused about, Denmark or Austria? Anyway, after tonight's win against France, I hope Slovenia seals the deal against Austria tomorrow and then challenges Norway on the last day.
