Meh, not really. Those numbers as bad as they look still would put him #10 in both GAA and Save % if he had played the minimum number of minutes to be in the top 20 (which he has not done) He's still having an ok year on an ok team in offense minded league.

Great skater, great shot, but his hockey sense just isn't there. He really does have a great natural ability but when it comes to thinking the game you can see he is still a ways away, especially in his defensive end.

But what was that old Dean Lombardi saying? He'd rather try and tame a tiger then paint stripes on a cat? Or something like that? Sort of applies to Ebert.

Reads like a scouting report on Randy Jones.

Except Randy Jones is not a good skater. And doesn't move the puck all that well. So not all that similiar.

Watching Alex Roach vs Kootney Ice and this kid is solid. Scored a goal about 4 feet from the net as he joined the rush. A couple of shifts later he was on a penalty kill (5-3) and he was everywhere to kill the penalty. He reminded me of a young Mattias Norstrom on how he moved on the penalty kill.

Anyone else have a scouting report on these guy?

AR was a nice pick up for us indeed. He can skate pretty well and likes to play a physical style of game. Has a good shot but not a canon and finds the open man pretty well. He needs a little work on his positional play in his own end but he is still learning and to me he shows a willingness to take a chance every now and then rather than constantly trying to play it safe.

He likes to fight and is good enough at it but will have to learn to keep it in his pants if he plans on making it in the NHL. I could see him with an honest shot at making the NHL in the next few years but he is going to take it one step at a time and that is good for us.

I would like to see him work on his speed a bit between now and next season when he will be expected to make the jump to the AHL.

Alex roach beat down Oil Kings tough guy Moroz tonight. Moroz who fights a lot and was drafted high in the second round of the draft is viewed as the Oilers Kyle Clifford. Great one sided fight.

Forbort with another goal last night, his 4th of the season already. He is probably the most NHL ready defenseman in the NCAA right now. His offensive skill is really starting to show through this year, along with his defensive play.

tnx for updates

I expected better stats from Hyka in the qmjhl.
Gibson also or shouldn't I?

Ebert scoring seems to cool off. But he has had a decent season compared to last one.
Schumacher shows no improvements in the scoring department compared to previous year.
Roach has been solid...

Shore is on a cold (scoring) streak the last few game I believe.
Forbort has a better offensive season to date and seems to show some of his draft potential.
Mersch added 2 assists to the previous 9 goal, 0 assists scoring total.

Hyka is very much hit and miss. I liken his style of play to Daniel Briere, but he doesn't have the strength to consistently perform with that type of aggressiveness.

Gibson is unrefined and raw, but very competitive. I don't like him much, others do. They understandably want to give him time, but there aren't many people who can succeed while lacking the fundamentals.

Ebert needs to improve his strength, with an attitude adjustment.

Schumacher needs to make use of his size. Simple as that. He tries to do too much with finesse.

Miller is impressive with his numbers, especially considering his injury and unimpressive numbers to start.

Macdermid's numbers are low, but he's supposedly a key defensive defenseman on one of the better defensive teams.

I always thought Roach had a lot of potential and offensive upside. If he keeps working on his skating he could be pretty dangerous.

Shore's numbers are decent considering a dip in production. He is very savvy and I'm sure he will turn things around.

Forbort always had a vision that most seem to overlook, especially last year. It's nice to see the numbers show up for him.

Nic Dowd has been a pleasant surprise. I liken him to a player like Derek Armstrong, who wasn't really skilled but put plays an unexpectedly effective grinding game.

Mersch is just a good developing.powerforward. It's nice to see him get some assists, but I hope he keeps potting goals so he can build off that success and he continues to play that game.

Joel Lowry is a lot like Brad Richardson. Great speed and the puck seems to find him, but is snake bitten from a scoring standpoint.

Gravel has a lot of potential to be the next Scuderi. He's not overly aggressive, but defensively disciplined.

I would, of course, like to see more numbers from all the prospects, but there really is a lot to be excited for for the most part.

I watched some Greyhounds games and I think that Schumacher is mentally immature (talented kid, but not so talented than he think is = workethic is missing). If he ever gets his head in order, he could be Dustin Penner-type of player - a massive and skilled non-physical top 6-forward.

Colin Miller is future AHL-veteran. He is like Thomas Hickey - not really offensive guy, not really defensive stalwarth. Some says that they are two-way players, I think they are more like no-way players.
