The first one looked avoidable and a little late but not dirty.

Second hit was as clean as it gets.

No problem with either.

Dr. Recchi called. He says he saw Satan driving around town the other day. Calling BS on his injury.

You can't hold up on a hit just because he's your buddy and countryman.. It's pro sports.

I'd love to go off on Chara... but there's nothing there. Meh.

Looked clean to me, hes just so big, pretty much every hit he makes will touch the other guys head.

Also on the second hit its more Satan running into brick wall

Satan is being a cry baby. Chara basically set a pick and satan skated right into him.

If Chara goes for the hit, hits them in the head, he shouldn't be allowed to use the excuse that it's not his fault that he's tall. Just because you're tall doesn't mean that you shouldn't adjust your game because of it.

If I have a car with an extremely loud horn that breaks the glass windows of houses nearby, was it not my fault? Maybe they should just get stronger windows, am I right?
It's illegal to have a horn with that high of frequency at that decibel. Last time I checked, it's not illegal to be tall.

Wouldn't that help my argument?

You expect to get hit on a regular basis playing hockey.
You don't expect to have your windows shattered by sound on a regular basis.

Better argument?

The onus is on Chara to avoid deliberately making head contact (i.e. no Pronger flying elbows). If his elbow is tucked, he isn't head hunting, he's assuming a natural posture for bracing for contact.

Nothing wrong with either hit, he kind of skated directly into Chara on the 2nd one and if Chara wanted to hurt him he could have done a lot worse than he did.

Clean and beautiful hits. There's no debate about that.

Keep your head up Satan. You learn that in pee wee.

Would it be different if Satan hit Nathan Gerbe in exactly the same way? After all, there are more players that are Satan's height than Gerbe's.

Should the referees keep a probability distribution chart of heights in order to determine the legality of every hit? Will it be based on the population of hockey players in the league or on the population of all adults?

I know that. If you have actually been keeping up with my argument instead of jumping in late, you would have noticed that I'm arguing that the argument, "It's not Chara's fault that he's tall," is completely wrong.

I'm defending the Chara hit 100% just because I think it was clean, not because it's not his fault he's tall.

Then I guess 5'8" to 6'5" should be the range allowed.

Listen, guys. I'm not actually arguing this. If you believe that Chara shouldn't be blamed because he's tall, then you should take this into consideration. If you don't use that argument, then forget about this maximum height nonsense I bring up.

Clean hit.

If that was considered a hit to the head then Chara wouldnt be able to hit much since he is so tall.

If he is targetting their head no. But, you can't expect him to bend down to the lowest possible position. The opponent sees the hit coming, and he basically can't make legal/effective hits anymore. The difference between hitting someone in the head and targetting their head is huge.

Good hit, but pretty scummy to hit one of you boys.

If I was playing against one of my friends, I'd hit him and take him off the puck, but I wouldn't try to end his life.
