So after watching MNF and New England shred the Texans D how do you guys feel about SF's D holding up to that offense? Or against their D which shut down the Texans attack pretty well?

I dunno, part of me is worried about our secondary. Seems like they were exposed a bit the past couple of games.

They probably won't hold up and the offense probably isn't going to do much. They're going to be underdogs going into this so maybe that'll help them step their game up. Nobody should be expecting a Niners win in this game.
This is 49ers related, so I'm posting it here. I'm thinking of getting a Niners jersey, whose name should I get on it? I am thinking maybe Justin Smith or Joe Staley. Of course, our real MVP has always been Andy Lee...

Joe Staley and Justin Smith are both excellent choices. If it were me, I'd pick Smith. He's just the ultimate team guy and deserves the attention that he constantly ducks.

The DL is crucial. It's been proven over time that if you get to Brady and limit his time, they can be shut down (that can pretty much be said about any qb).
This game will be decided at the line of scrimmage.
Also, their WR group is very banged up. Their 2 biggest threats in this game are Hernandez and Lloyd. Hernandez will be covered by one of the LB's with safety help over the top. Welker is banged up. It would be smart for them to press him up at the line.

Well there's also Woodhead who's pretty good at taking short passes for first downs/good yardage. Plus they have a pretty good running game established with Ridley and Woodhead.

They're small and fast. They may be able to exploit the blitz with some screens, but I don't see either running for very much. No one gets to the edge on the ground vs sf.
New England looked great against Houston but Houston has been playing awful and pulling out wins against bad teams...once they play teams with a winning record..they are average. S.F. will be in the game til the end.

That's what I'm thinking. The ground game will be mostly SF but I really don't see the air game being anything but complete Patriots domination. Then again maybe I'm looking at from the pov of a Bills fan used to watching Fitzpatrick try to match Brady.
I don't pay too much attention to the Niners D too much, but do they play a lot of man to man coverage on defense?

It depends on the match ups, but they usually play man to man.
Well hopefully they don't play man to man because Brady feasts on man to man coverage.
The defense's ability to succeed will depend on if their four man rush is effective. If they can pressure Brady with four or five and leave the rest back in coverage, they'll be fine regardless of zone or man-to-man.
I have to Thank the NHL for not getting their stuff together because with no hockey, I've been following the Warriors a lot closer this year than prior years and man this is a fun team to watch. That game last night was amazing, one of the best basketball games I've seen this year.
Oddly enough, I too decided to sit down and watch the Warriors last night. I had seen a lot of the Brooklyn game and I knew they had been playing well, but wasn't expecting to be rewarded with such a close game and tight finish.
But seriously, who are these guys? I actually used to know most of the roster even as a casual, but they must have really cleaned house this summer.
The Angel's pitching is still garbage. Keep throwing money at the issue I'm sure that is going to help.
Just gonna make it even more sweet when the A's repeat!

It got personal, and it got ugly, and for the next half-decade, as Josh Hamilton wears a Los Angeles Angels uniform and faces the Texas Rangers 19 games every season, the malice will not abate.
