Personally I did not hoard purposely, No one made any offers on those goalies
Secondly as for "Profit" I could of asked for significantly more
But I didn't because i realized that it was sorta unfair
Finally I "Gave back" Leddy and Hodgson as instructed
However Henrique still remains on the st.louis blues
+ there were no regulations and I had the cap
Neocanuck you barely joined so why don't you take a seat.
Btw im not opposed to adding regulations
What are you, five? Take a seat?
How about you stop taking it personally?
If no one gave any offers to those goalies (I'm assuming this is Free Agency), then you should have known that it says which teams have offered what contracts to whom, then adjusted accordingly. If you meant no one had sent a trade offer, that's not our problem. Either way, it was stupid of you to offer that many contracts to players, especially the crop of number one goaltenders in FA. The fact that you even got the slightest profit from it, is abusing the games mechanics. Now I don't care about any of the trades as they don't make a difference to me, but what if I go sign the top FA next year with all my cap space and hold him ransom to the rest of the leagues GMs? Doesn't matter even if I get a 7th rounder, it still abuses the mechanics, just like how you have 12 year deals in the real NHL that abuse the previous CBA.
The only reason Leddy and Hodgson were FA's was because the GM's whom ran those teams were not there while contracts were re-newed. That's why everyone gave those players back. If Henrique hasn't been given back, that's up to the GM to fix.
There aren't any regulations on who you can sign, but if something comes up like this that ruins a bit of the experience for other GMs, then it needs to be addressed.
I know this is looking in the future, but it's a potential issue I'm seeing come up in the future FA periods.
Seeing that some human and some CPU teams this last FA period almost hoarded certain positional players, and now some of those players (Example: Steve Mason) are being traded for a profit, what would stop certain teams with cap space to offer heavy contracts to players during free agency, then trade them off in the season for almost no penalty. Of course the NHL could do this, but I think it's abusing the game a bit, as it doesn't effect whether or not free agents sign with you, even if you trade players a few weeks after signing them.
Could be perhaps have an honor system, or at least a way that if you offer a contract to a player and he signs, he cannot be traded for a season or so?
Detroit should have shopped around. There is better goalies available for much cheaper. I dont know what hes doing there with steve "joe juneau/jim carey" mason
Why is everyone concerned with what I traded to get Steve Mason, he is an 84 in this game, he is in the last year of his contract, my starter was Biron, I needed a goalie over 82, and I traded away gustuvsson and Helm (third line center) for a legit 1st line goal tender, who in turn, I should be able to sign for about 4 million next season. There are many reasons why I traded for him. Also, Florida was probably the only GM who didnt want to gauge me by taking Datsyuk, Zetterberg or Kronwell.
I have mason in aother league, and he had 46 wins under his belt, im ok with this trade, is there any paticular reason you feel this was unfair?? I would have given gustuvsson away for a 3rd round pick, his side to side is aweful in this game, Biron at least has a reach, I had to send a goalie in the other direction.
I will be out of town for a couple of days, so when I set my CPU to sim my games, I dont want everyone rocking the hell out of Biron, who IMO is the second easiest goalie to score on. I know what im doing, let it be.
Is colorado online at all??? we have two games......... Singed The Wings...
PS: TRADE TO ANNOUNCE
Detroit's 1st round pick 2014
NOW before all you net nerds take a side, please remember, I had 2 first picks, 2 seconds and 2 3rds, I needed to make a move, and I like Hemsky, I made this deal, it was not approached to me, and im not a fan of bert... DEAL WITH IT..
