EHT 2012-13 [CZE/FIN/RUS/SWE] • 2nd Stage • Channel One Cup (Dec. 13-16)
По итогам медицинского обследования из состава выбыли голкипер Илья Брызгалов (ЦСКА), а также нападающие Александр Попов ("Авангард") и Евгений Дадонов ("Донбасс"). http://fhr.ru/content/news/11893.html
Anyone know why Calle Jarnkrok isn't playing? I'd have thought he was playing well enough to make it. Also how has Backman been playing thus far this year?
Bryzgalov is injured? Do you have a source for that?
Apprently the three players haven't passed the medical tests upon arriving at camp. Little surprise about Popov as team officials already said he has a minor injury and is doubtful to really play. Same goes for Bryz, as he was scratched for the Dynamo Moscow game. In case of Dadonov must have happened in the very last game like with Ryasensky.

The swedes and finns have rather experimental rosters giving some untested players a chance. That doesn't mean Jarnkrok doesn't deserve or need one. It's just not their best roster they are assembling there.
Russian and czech rosters look pretty close to the top.
It's in the nature of this tournament. Traditionally the home team offers the best roster to plase the home crowd. For other teams it's more of a test run.

Okay cool, thanks for the info. I don't normally follow it but with the NHL lockout and some of the wing's prospects playing I thought I might as well check it out.

The main reason why Järnkrok is not selected for this roster is that Brynäs will play in the Red Bull Salute (playoffs for Europen Trophy). Brynäs, Färjestad, HV71, and Luleå have all qualified for the tournament and national team coach Pär Mårts agreed not to select any player from those teams, since he could use the locked out players to still ice a competitive team
Do you think Varlamov would have been the starter for Russia in this tournament if he wasn't injured? He was playing great in the KHL before he got hurt.

Söderberg hasn't arrived.
Persson and Danielsson ahead of Lindberg. What a joke.

What's your trouble with Hanzal? A very solid roster you have there.

A lot of officials clearly stated that this roster is made for the fans so they 'd probably take Varlamov in. Otherwise he's a lock on the top-roster now and actually dosn't need any more testing.
Means Bill noticed some facts from AkBars. Medvedev and Yemelin look good on the 2nd PP unit of ours. Forward line pretty much as expected with healthy Tereschenko replacing Shipachyov on the 3rd and Bill wouldn't be Bill if he would do a little tweak. Ovechkin on the 3rd is unexpected(Not that it's the 3d line but the fact Bill apparently tries to make his 3rd line form the WC better). Let's see how it works out.
