When Schneider gets into the zone, he is a technical machine in the crease. Even Luongo admits that Schneider is going to be a superstar in the league.

Yeah until groin issues occur, I think luongo moved real well for a big man too, injuries often occur that slow down the lateral movement. Other than his lateral movement, i think luongo moves pretty decent. I know he commits more to the original shot than he used to and does try to hard to get his full body back in place because of the groin issues. Its very evident. Its his kick off ability which has made his change his game a tad to be able to adapt. Hes trying to play smarter to make up for it. Its working pretty well, still a great goaltender
I sure hope Schneider does'nt face any wear and tear that slows him down because hes a beast right now
Luongo had a lot more athleticism when he was younger, but wasn't as positionally sound as Schneider. Schneider's awesome, but he doesn't have the tools Luongo had when he was younger.

When I watch Schneider, I see a virtually flawless player with excellent athleticism...
And I wasn't super high on him 3-4 years ago. He's come a long way in the last couple years.

Luongo is very tall and has extremely fast reflexes to go along with his long legs and arms. Schneider is smaller in comparrison but his positioning and puck sight is what lets him make up for it
Luongo is a better first save goaltender than Schneider is, and when he's on is the best in the world ( not sure what happens when he collapses).
Schneider is better at virtually everything else though. Breakaways, stronger downlow and doesn't get pushed around in the crease, better at reading the play. With the style we currently play, Schneider is a better fit.
Luongo would be the better goaltender if they were both on defensive teams, which clear rebounds and keep the opposition to the outside
