It is.

I tend to over-cycle against the CPU, particularly in the first and second periods. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't. I'd honestly say that at least 10 of those were really, really good scoring chances. At one point, I had the puck in their end for 9 straight minutes of game-time. Their guys were too gassed to get it back, but mine were too tired to hit the net.

Lundquist gave up an awful rebound goal on a counter-rush. At that point, it sometimes becomes hard to get the puck back from the CPU.

I was losing until under a minute in the 3rd, when I finally got one past Pavelec.

They scored on their first chance in OT.

EDIT: And Bogosian knocked Gaborik out for 7 games. Sigh.

playing them above their means hinders development I think. I think there truly is a 'minutes to production' factor in development.

for example:

If you play Shinkaruk on the first line, he may not do very well at all even in games you play. and you finish with like 40 points in 82 games.

I think the jump comes when the production of points is passed a certain expecation of number of minutes played. Thats why huge jumps come from 2nd and 3rd line players who do really well compared to first line players who kinda just play under a point a game. McGinn is an 84 for me after netting 50 points as a 3rd line/2nd line player). He started as a 77.

So the best would probably give them 3rd or 4th Line minutes (if its a forward) or bottom 6 minutes for a dman OR just keep them in the minors all together.

Kyle Quincy won the Norris and actually declined, right?

Production isn't a factor. C. Summers will jump even if he sits on the bench the entire year. I believe Nquist made his 6 point jump while putting up only modest numbers.

Its about age and potential rating.

(P.S., I really wish the system worked the way you explained. Perhaps you'd like to throw that in an EA suggestion box, because that's basically how it should work... )

I NEARLY had the same frustration level. Playing Winnipeg CPU, they score in the 2nd period (from behind the goal line no less), and Pavelec is lights out. So I have an offensive zone faceoff with 5 seconds left and pull the goalie. My two extra attackers are clearly set to Stamkos and Stastny. Stastny is on the 2nd line, therefore should be the extra attacker when my 1st line is on the ice. Well this ****ing game decides that 4th line Benoit Pouliot shall be my extra attacker. And wouldn't you know it, with 3 seconds left in the game, Pouliot scores to send it to OT. That was my team's 25th shot of the game to their 8. Then Conacher scores in OT, and I have my first undefeated block here.

Haha if it doesn't work like that it definitely should.

But to play devil's advocate, I think Quincey won the Norris it was just due to having the most points out of all defenseman. He in his Rstick bio (where you see his stats) the description probably still had him as a top 4 man. So if he played first pairing minutes maybe point production was still not up to par compared to what he is labelled as.

Like if its an offensive dman, but only labelled top 4, yet plays top 2 minutes, the minutes still outweigh the production.

lmao that might be a stretch but still might help explain.

At this point i dont even care. If shinkaruk can get 40 points this season thats adds 40 points to the team total to winning. Which is why I think CBJ prospects are always ****ed because we rush them. But shinkaruk is going to play bottom 6 probably and pick up the slack where need be. While Murray is playing 3rd pairing and penalty kill. Everything i saw for developing was to play your best defensive aware players on pk and your best offensive aware players on PP...obviously lol

Or you could send them down, let them rip up the minors, and sign UFA players that are just as good.

Evo, that's how things work in real life, EAs potential system is nothing like that. No matter where they play/how they do, a player like Galchenyuk sometimes gets to a measly 68 after 3 seasons...might as well play them in the NHL and see if the 'pro' experience pays off, it's all a crapshoot anyway.

Oilers are struggling to score goals right now.

Shut out 3 times in the last 4 games.

2 of which were 1-0 Shootout losses.

I hate going through goal scoring slumps.

Got lucky with a win against the Ducks and while playing my backup. He is 63 overall but made crazy saves and stopped 26 out of 27 shots.

Yeahh I couldn't believe Corbeil played that good, and Hiller literally skated out of the way of a dribbling puck for the winner. I am trying to load the replay but can't really figure out how

I am 100% sure this game hates me. Does anybody want to explain to me how both of my goalies let in 6 goals on 14 shots? Or how Mark Visentin outplays both of my goalies? Or how quite literally every shot PHX takes goes in but my goalie has a piece of it and can't stop it? (other than his 7th goal) Or how Heatley can pass it through Howard's 5-hole for a goal? **** I hate this game right now.
