He's the kind of guy that was going to need a very good camp to make the team. He's going to have to be lights out I feel in the two intrasquad games to make it.

Yah for sure and he should a powerplay fixture on the left side as well, with that explosive first step he can make a move to the net so rapidly as he does constantly in Halifax.

If he's to make the team then he'll be expected to provide more than a huge point shot. Right now he's definitely one of the weaker guys out there. Still, it's only 2 periods of hockey — plenty of time to show more.

Judging by what we've seen tonight, #7 is going to end up as one of the weaker guys no matter what.

The highlight reel passing rush by Drouin, Mackinnon, Lipon had Sproul reeling (Drouin passed right through him to Mackinnon). I feel like it's him or Murphy for the 7D and we all know Murphy comes in as the favourite.

They wont run that line in the scrimmage the other lines will all get hurt before the tounrey starts

After chirping Murphy in this thread about not being a lock and some people disagreeing, so far he has looked far from a lock. Definitely hasnt looked terrible where he should be an easy cut or anything but saying hes a lock with play like that is iffy

Man Drouin has electric moments.

Murphy always seems to try to do too much.... You can see the ability but I wonder if you want that risk on your Blueline.
It may be bias when you say it, but I agree with you and I'm not biased. I liked the way Pouliot jumped up in the play so effortlessly. I agree with your assessment on Murphy but I would like to see him as the 7th dman.

Well I mean that's why Murphy might get a look. Do you take a player who's safe and reliable defensively might be able to play shorthanded, or do you bring a gamebreaker with one rush and powerplay specialist that can bring an element none of those other dmen can bring. I really want Murphy to succeed but he's making a mess out of simple plays out there and really hope he can clean it up, he can make a difference if the offense is down a goal and needs a dman to rush into the play to make an offensive contribution.

Just like giving a disclaimer when disussing the pens prospects. He's been very smooth tonight and has come to play.

Murphy was great as a 16 year old, better as a 17 year old and pretty good as an 18 year old. He's having a rough game but lets not twist facts, he's been a great Kitchener Ranger.

Charles Hudon is allergic to corners... Never noticed it in the Q but he's allergic to corners while wearing a maple leaf on his jersey.

Francis "Turnover" Beauvillier is having a brutal game as well.

Tough to pick guys out due to the crap quality of the stream but those guys have been painful.

I think neither of them are safe or reliable defensively and both are power play specialists on this team. It comes down IMO to what you prefer: a rushing type defenseman or a huge point shot.

In a nice, unnoticeable kind of way. Which really isn't a bad thing. Several d-men have been noticeable for the wrong reasons.

I hope we get a bit more finish in the rest of camp. We can't afford to cough up chances against teams like Russia, like we did last year.

Dumba has been the most disappointing for me so far today, turning the wrong way, not getting his angles right, just not in this game.

With both Dumba and Murphy being noticeable for all the wrong reasons defensively, it's probably best for Corrado's chances that he's just solidly moving the puck and covering his side.
