Hamilton will need to improve his lateral skating a bit if he wants to make as much of a difference in the NHL as he does in the OHL. Even taking his size into account, it's probably average at best.

Wotherspoon just earned himself a big red minus with that penalty.

I'm just going by position, skating and height to identify players. Easier for D than forwards.

Yeah, you can clearly tell Corrado from the other d-men, right hander with super smooth skating. Similar height to Dumba, but Dumba puts a bit more kick into his stride.

Didn't like Reinhart. Don't think he has the skating for big ice and don't see his strengths being particularly important against Russians, Swedes or Finns. Dropped his stick twice which bugged me quite a bit.

Broke his stick on a slapper & went back into his own end & was standing in front of net in his zone with no stick. Didn't look like he was asking for one or trying to grab one off a teammate.

Also, I thought Murphy was by far the worst D on the ice. Sucked on the PP too. Might just be me. (I really liked what I saw from Hamilton, Harrington and Rielly.)

As far as LD go, Wotherspoon is impressing me more than Reinhart.

Well, he has a hell of a defensive partner, so it's understandable.

And as I say that, brutal turnover by Wotherspoon. Seems quite smart and solid but perhaps a bit nervous — two strange mistakes now (1st period penalty and that turnover).

Biased, but liking Corrado. Jumping up into play when necessary but at the same time doing good job covering defensively and definitely covered up for Wotherspoon a few times. Great skater.

Corrado bails while skating backward but still makes a nice defensive play.

Even in bailing he still looked so fluid skating backwards.

He is also really good at pinching in & keeping the puck in play. Should fit in nicely with our D

Nothing extraordinary from Corrado, but he looks good by comparison since Sproul, Dumba, and Murphy are all blowing it in this game.

Corrado has look good, made about 3 noticeable pinches keeping the puck in play in the offensive zone, skated his way out of trouble a few times. Solid defensively. This is the game he needs to play.

I think if i saw him corrrectly, skated that puck out of forecheck pressure in the D zone setting up the move up ice for Danault's goal. Dunno about an assist but will probably help his cause.

Early impressions about the others: Not Drouin's year. MacKinnon will be on this team.

I believe you're correct. That's what I saw as well.
