I think his odds are pretty good. If Kerdiles had played the entire season to date, I think he would have been on the camp list right from the start.

If Kerdiles makes the team, would he be playing center or play on the wing?

we have solid depth all around, but with him missing a lot of action, I would prefer him to play wing and deal with less overall then he would at center...

@chrismpeters: #Habs will recall Galchenyuk if/when lockout ends even if before/during #2013WJC, says Bergevin

He's just that good.

Expect the same for RNH, Yakupov and Huberdeau. It'll balance out in the end.

I would assume that JT Miller would be our first line center, if Galchenyuk can't play in this tournament, but even Miller is a question mark.

My question is, if it happens during the WJC, can the US replace him with another player or not or are they stuck with only the 13 forwards they brought?

Also, if the season starts, it looks as if the season will start around January 1st and at the latest, the second week of January. Meaning training camp will definitely interfere at least with the WJC, it would be pretty messed up if he pulls him out especially if the US is doing well.

If we are even lucky enough to have NHL camps impact the WJC I would be flat out shocked if the Rangers held him back. There's really no spot for him on the NHL roster, plus by all accounts Miller really wants to play in the WJC and the Rangers have stated (Gordie Clark interview on their website) that they think it's a great opportunity for his development.

So they'd decimate the tournament if a settlement is reached.

While we all love the doom and gloom of fearing a player gets pulled DURING The tournament, I think that this threat is a little overstated, which is what happens when you react to a twitter comment, based on article that was based on a quote that was translated from another language.

Here's Bergevin's actual quote, although once again, this was actually translated by google; I think with his start to the season, the caliber of player he is, there is a possibility he could stay in Montreal and Id like to see and evaluate his game, said [Bergevin].

If that's all he said, don't be expecting Montreal to be sending a plane to Ufa to airlift Galchenyuk out. If the lockout ends before he takes off then it might be a "possibility". But, hey, who doesn't love sensationalized headlines?

Not even USA, but Canada has a couple of guys like RNH and Huberdeau that should be on their NHL squads. They'd be screwed if the parent clubs recall them.

Russia could be decimated to the point of dropping out of medal contention.

I wonder if they would make an exception this year due to the unusual circumstances. I doubt it, but it wouldn't really surprise me.

I'm calling it right now, if the lockout ends and some of those players get recalled for NHL training camp, Rocco Grimaldi will lead the tournament in scoring.

I don't see it, I don't think he will even be the most productive on his team in scoring out players not eligible for recall.

Worst case scenario...

Lucia-Grimaldi-Noesen
Gaudreau-Trocheck-Barber
Matteau-Kuraly-Biggs
Pietila-Bardreau-Hartman
Kerdiles

It's pretty depressing what losing two players could do but at least some of the other teams will take thier hits as well.

As an aside, if Galchenyuk doesn't end up playing on this team I hope there's a chance he ends up with a spot on the senior team at the WC's. After all the speculation over the years I just want to see him in a US jersey at an IIHF event at some point this year.

The guy looks to be a Calgary fan so I'd assume he's banking on Gaudreau.
