happens all the time, it works wonders with Kesler... on the twins? Not so much.
Schultz is going to continue to make all 29 other teams jealous, whether they'd admit it or not. Essentially a free blue chip prospect, and probably one of the best there is
Why can't my fellow Oilers fans admit he's pretty average defensively? It's not like it's just me seeing it. Opposing fans see it almost every game as well. Last night in particular, he made quite a few gaffes in the D-zone.
But whatever, his defensive struggles are greatly outweighed by his offensive skills, no doubt about that.
I agree. Hes quite average even at AHL level, and its obviously going to be way harder in the NHL. To think he wont be somewhat of a defensive liability would be foolish.
Of course, he would look much better playing with a solid d man. Marincin is very inconsistent. Great 1 night, disaster the next. Schultz gets a ton of 2 on 1 practice.
He does seem to have very high hockey IQ, so the possibility of improvement is there for sure. If the Oilers can teach him to take the body, I think he could end up quite competent.. Big if tho..

28, Anaheim isn't jealous, we don't want backstabbers.
I'm not here to troll but at least you guys something back for Pronger (and ended up getting Eberle with one of the picks). We lost Schultz for absolutely nothing because he completely misled our GM and coaching staff.
Well looks like he has quite a bit of catching up to do since all the guys you've mentioned are established nhlers on the top pairings of top teams in the NHL. So much hype for this guy...

You lost Schultz for nothing because your GM didn't sign him or trade him before he hit free agency. Schultz had no obligation to play for the Ducks and had every right to test the market. It sucks, but it happens. See Blake Wheeler or Riley Nash.
I'd take the bolded with a grain of salt. The accusations made by members of the Ducks organization are just one side of the story so it's silly to take them as fact. It would make sense for them to lie to get a little sympathy or to try to cover up their own incompetence by claiming Schultz misled them.
