I really think the only places truly safe from the fallout will be a handful of U.S. teams and the Canadian based ones.

Det, D.C., Anaheim.... (teams perceived to be on a down swing), all the southern based teams, teams that stink from the jump, either this 'season' or next. I think the owners are in for a rough go of it.

Funny. When the NHLPA isn't happy with the process, the NHL proclaims they're optimistic... but when the NHLPA is optimistic the NHL isn't.

Playing the optics game much?

Count me in on that one. Even worse that I've wasted hours upon hours on this forum and twitter following these stupid meetings, trolling for updates when I've got 2 finals in the next 48 hours.

I don't even care anymore if you're going to dick around with these meetings postpone it until the weekend so I can atleast follow without a guilty conscience.

Nah, I wouldn't worry about it... I'm fairly certain that we're not the dummies in this mess.

You feel a lot better if you think this

"There is no season."

I do. And this way I can't be dissapointed, but I still can be surprised with joy.

I'm in this boat. I find it wildly entertaining and exciting.

I have absolutely no control over when this ends, so I might as well buckle in and enjoy this rollercoaster.

It's like that train wreck you just can't help from looking at.... And it's not just any old train wreck, oh no.... it's Ozzy's "crazy train" train wreck.

I don't understand what many of you are so optimistic about?

They are far from a deal. Unless Gary Bettman lied to everybody why aren't we taking him at his word?

He made it clear that the make whole was off the table. He made it clear that, because it was a package deal, many elements were off the table.

Bill Daly says he has low expectations for today.

Mediators present.

This is sure as a blow up meeting as you'll get.. Player will say we'll give you the 7 year CBA and 7 Year contract limit if you offer us 300+ million make whole...

The season is lost. It was over last Wednesday. The fact that some of you look at this meeting as a positive and not for what it is .. is disturbing. Have we not figured out what's going on yet?

This meeting wil end BADLY. It will end very bad. Prepare or it'll be a long day for you.

With that attitude, you don't honestly believe it wont happen. You are just setting yourself up for both disappointment and happiness.

It's a game we can't watch.

We don't get to see how a game plan if made for an actual hockey game, but we get to watch it being implemented on the ice. We see who was in the wrong place, who made a bad pass, who took a chance that paid off, etc.

Right now, we get to see nothing. All we get is the press conference after the fact. Who would follow the NHL if they played the game, we didn't get to see it, but we got to see the players and coaches talking to the camera about hard work and getting to the net after the game?

All this mess is, is two sides with enough money to burn, that they can afford to try and prove a point to each other. Any fan following this mess just cares about the league, and wanting to get the escape back for a few hours a night. Maybe that's why we're dumb.

Do you honestly believe that if PA was going to take the offer NHL gave them last week, Bettman would say no?

I certainly don't expect a CBA to come out of it, but I do hope we get some entertaining tweets and pressers.
