Anyone that has been watching the games, has he at least been physical and been playing good puck possession hockey?
He has been a disappointment for the past month, but I think he'll be back with Hodgson soon and his game will pick up. He's not a finisher, and it's pretty obvious. He misses a lot of chances.

It sounds like there will be a resolution to the lockout soon.

Can we all agree that, at the very least, the Sabres need to bring in at least one player to replace Foligno and Hodgson? Preferably two, but beggars can't be choosers.

I would hope they would do that. Not holding my breath though.

I'm still not convinced the lockout will end any time soon, but just basing my previous post on a Gord Miller tweet.

I don't think its ending either, but if the lockout did end I'd be surprised if we only lost those two. There will be injuries in Buffalo, there will be more call ups. Amerks will be in a lot of trouble without help.

That's the issue. The Amerks clearly lack forward depth even without all the call ups. With them, it could get ugly. I would say at least 1 top 6 forward and maybe another 1 or 2 depth players.

If the lockout ends soon, both teams are going to be in a whole lot of trouble with Tropp, Hodgson, Ennis, Myers, and Gerbe all injured right now. Buffalo's roster without those players looks like a recipe for a top 5 pick.

I'd sit through four bad months for a top-5 pick.

Especially in this draft, that talent at the top is unreal. 6-7 guys who would've legitimately challenged for a top 3 spot any other year.

Fitzpatrick for Shinkaruk?

Necrotic, panic, nonspecific, wreck, rain-check, etc. for Shinkaruk.

Oh, totally agree with the way this draft class looks. I'd love to have a chance to nab someone like MacKinnon, Lindholm, or Barkov. Would easily make up for a few months of embarrassingly bad hockey.

I wouldn't mind a shortened season so we could hopefully get a top 5 pick

Hodgson might be back this weekend:

Just talked with Amerks coach Ron Rolston, who says Cody Hodgson may return from broken hand Saturday. He's been out since Nov. 3.

I think that ship has sailed, and I don't think Hodgson's return will have much of an impact on Girgensons.
