If i was Spott, i'd take a gamble on the youngsters.
Take 2 of Mac/Shinkaruk or Drouin.
One of em is your 13th forward.
Fill in the rest of your roster.
Good news on the NHL lockout front for TC. Things went no where today.
That's the point, and my exact reason for not naming specific people/players names. You can't discredit someone in a game you know they're watching because what are you going to say? I'm right you're wrong? It's no argument.
All you can say is what I said, people are exagerating things either in favour or against certain players.
Ahh. I guess i missed your point a little bit. I 100% agree. Its awfully difficult to evaluate opinions on a forum. Maybe thats why they are so interesting.
Drouin has played enough to humble those labelling as a player "who does not go into the corners/stays on perimeter" (absolutely FALSE) and a "one-dimensional player" (false although he will have to improve his defensive game before making it to the NHL). Only legit knock against him is that he must get stronger given how he is not yet physically mature.
I haven't really noticed Monahan out there in either game. Is that good or bad? I don't think he has been bad at all, but usually a 17 year old needs to stand out to make the team.
MacKinnon is pretty much a lock at this point, IMO. I think it will come down to one of Drouin/Shinkaruk. Both have looked good so far. Drouin has the chemistry with MacK so that might give him an edge.
Thought Canada really struggled with the transition game. Additionally I'm hoping this dump and chase style that Canada played is not what we'll see in in Ufa..

Drouin has been the best forward by a fair margin. At minimum he needs to get another look with the starters tomorrow.
Also liking Mackinnon, Rattie, Graovac, Beauvillier (does all the little things), Patterson, Corrado (homer), Pouliot and Sproul.
Agree with pretty much all of this. Maybe not by a margin btut he made himself noticeable for sure.
Graovac had a really good PK out there and looked solid. I still think Corrado and Sproul should get spots on the team. Murphy played with a steady, solid guy who most consider a lock and he still looked exposed defensively. I doubt they send Rielly, Reinhart and Pouliot either when they have older guys playing ust as well as Pouliot
Only saw the third period of the game, but how did McNeill play? I'm not expecting to hear that he had any huge hits, but how was he defensively? Positionally? What did he do offensively?
I thought Murphy was better today, but I dont know if its just me, but he seems to struggle on the big ice, especially in 1 on 1 battles.
Another problem is that there was 1 PP opportunity for Canada today, not enough time to pick a PP QB. Pouliot looked good today, as did Corrado.
As for the forwards, Drouin is making it very hard to cut him.... if our big guns (RNH, Huberdeau, Strome) cannot produce offence, im not sure I have faith in guys like Rattie to pick up the slack

I liked McNeill's game today. He had some very noticeable shifts (good ones), especially on the PK I thought.
