it does suck that he wasn't invited, especially with the way that highly touted D-men like Dumba/Murphy have played. I think his skating would make him one of our better defensive D-man on the big ice, and has been playing much better as of late.. though he might have been redundant with Reinhart out there.
Agree with pretty much all of this. Maybe not by a margin btut he made himself noticeable for sure.
Graovac had a really good PK out there and looked solid. I still think Corrado and Sproul should get spots on the team. Murphy played with a steady, solid guy who most consider a lock and he still looked exposed defensively. I doubt they send Rielly, Reinhart and Pouliot either when they have older guys playing ust as well as Pouliot
IMO RNH, Huberdeau and Scheifele should each anchor their own lines.
Strome - RNH - Ritchie (Hottest duo in the CHL + RNH)
Drouin - MacKinnon - Huberdeau (Dynamic, offensive line, great at the SSS)
Hudon - Scheifele - Rattie (Balanced, two-way line)
Danault - Jenner - McNeill (Shutdown)
Monahan/Graovac
ya i really like this, never thought of it this way, big guns on every line, RNH Strome. Huberdeau.(mack drouin arent slouches either) Scheif and rattie, (hudon will only compliment) and then jenner.
I was surprised with Graovac looked very well. Sadly didnt notice monahan even though i was trying..

They were pretty clearly trying to keep the LD - RD balance and with Reinhart close to a lock, I'm not sure where he would fit in.
Is it safe to say Dumba has officially played himself off the roster? I know more than half of posters projected lists had him as that 3rd D pairing. Is it safe to say his mediocre season isn't just because of his team, but also because of him? Many thought he was a bit of a shoo in due to his HC pedigree, but I really don't like his decision making or mobility.
Ryan Murphy is very frustrating as well. I honestly don't believe his pros outweigh his cons. I'd rather have Pouliot or Sproul in that 7th D position.
At this point Reinhart and Corrado should be an excellent third pairing and I would trust them out there against any opponent.

Even if he got another chance and he played better, can you really take a guy that was getting constantly burned to the outside all game and was on the ice for 3GA out of 4? I don't think this is the time to be gambling on somebody getting back into form.
Not very well. But what does that have to do with anything?
I can still see Murphy in the 7th D spot. But if one of the D gets injured, I wouldn't be very comfortable seeing him out there on a regular basis. I personally would prefer to keep a utility D man in the 7th spot. It all depends on the kind of hockey Canada wants to play.

Especially because its not like he had a clear advantage over anyone before the game.
Was outplayed even by Murphy this afternoon.
IMO you've got Reinhart, Corrado, Murphy, Pouliot and Sproul left for three spots. And I might put them in that order as well

There's a reason you can't base your opinions off these games only. A few of the players who sat today (Thus locks) didn't have good games yesterday.
It'll be very difficult to cut MacKinnon, Drouin and Shinkaruk. It will be easy to cut Dumba. I'd get rid of Wilson too. He's the kind of player you'd love to have in the Stanley Cup playoffs but not so much in a IIHF sanctioned tournament.

There's a reason these players didn't sit today. If you're not a lock then you better show well when you're asked to and if you don't then you get cut, it's that simple.
