I think we should have a group of kids solve this, we get 20 kids to pick a number between 5-8, the number picked most is the contract length, then pick between 8-10 for CBA length. Then everyone eats ice cream
Nick Kypreos @RealKyper
#CBA meeting over. No progress. #NHL remains firm on "take it or leave it" last offer to #NHLPA.
And the wheels keep spinning ffs. I don't really care what the "experts" say, we are at the 11th hour and it's not looking good.
People had to see this coming. Bettman was absolutely choked at that last press conference. When he said that the NHL had been negotiating with themselves.(ie increasing their proposals without a counter), you had to know he was about to take a hard stance.
@KatieStrangESPN: #CBA Daly said no "conclusion" to process. Said NHLPA was expected to get back to mediator tonight on matter. NHL waiting to hear
It sounds like the pa will have internal talk and then get back to mediators later tonight the nhl is waiting to here back
Obviously its difficult for mediators when the nhl won't move on a take it or leave it offer what i'm interested in is if the so called final offer that Gary said was off the table on thursday came back on the table today

That's what it sounded like on Sportscentre.
They basically said that the NHL was saying we're standing pat on those three things we need. If the PA wanted to accept the offer from las week, they'll talk. If not, see you later.
edit: On second thought, that probably doesn't include the so called "final offer" and just the whole "we need three things" offer.
The yes's are definatly from those optimistic, which is good thing. G Bettman and co. seemingly don't give a **** this time, AND I believe its because of D Fehr. The owners genuinely hate him. I would be more than happy to say I'm wrong, but NO is the easy answer.
The owners aren't stupid, they've heard/read what was said that Fehr said that he could get them a better deal even though the last proposal seemed to be a good one. This is them giving Don the bird.

Agreed. I still can not believe how many media types out there have got there noses so far up the players/D Fehr's ***** it hardly makes sense.

Apparently last weeks offer is still on the table according to what Brendon Morrison told repoerters
@TGfireandice: Brendan Morrison said that players were told that NHL's proposal last week was still on the table by the mediator.
@RenLavoieRDS: So last week NHL offer still on the table. Its up to the players to decide.
Ya when a group of representives vote to get rid of somebody after questionable behavior and then bring the person with the single most experience in a matter, it confuses me that this is seen as bad.

I think its not bad for the pa but its bad for us because these actions have left Don Fehr as boss
And Don Fehr is scary
I will not be surprised when I hear tomorrow morning that Fehr/the players responded to the non-negotiable offer in the same way as they did last time; keeping the things that are good for them and changing the rest.

So I guess
stopping embezzlers = bad
trying to kill sports = good
