Flames would probably give you Karlsson for a couple of donuts.

Even if Emery was an average goalie, I'd like to keep him away from our young team. I'm not a fan of the Yakupov/Emery thing

My takeaway: Dubnyk is a lot better than people seem to think.

How about Greiss from SJ? He played very well last year in a back up role and if the sharks decide one of their ahl goalies is finally ready he would be available. He will be an UFA after the year so he won't cost much.

Not sure he is worth that much to EDM.
If the Oilers end up pick 20th or later in the upcoming draft then I would offer LA the pick for Bernier.

Why not Bernier?
That's exactly it. With what the Kings would want, its just not worth it. Dubnyk is our starter. We need a good backup that can push Dubnyk, but not at the cost of someone like Bernier

It would cost edmonton more then just the pick to get bernier

i only get to see the oilers play the canucks, but Dubnyk has often been their best player in those games.

Which is exactly why the Oilers wouldn't be interested in him as a backup for Dubnyk

I totally agree where ever bernier ends up he be challenging for number one spot not backing up. I also belive firmly that bernier will only be traded to a eastern club as they dont want to have to face him as much in the season

You can take Labarbera off our hands for $3.50. Please?

Or you could wait a year and get him through free agency

Seriously though, I think Visentin is ready to move up to the NHL and back up smith. So I'm not seeing any situation where we re-sign him

Lehner, but it would cost a ridiculous amount to move him, as the Sens finally have stability in net, and he is our future starter after Anderson.

Then why even bring it up?

Don't be that guy.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought the OP was asking what goalies Edmonton could bring in and what it would cost... If by 'that guy', you mean 'guy replying to the OP's topic', then yes, I am that guy.

They could also bring in Quick, Price, or Lundqvist as well. Doesn't mean it would be plausible.

Ottawa is high on Lehner and not going to move him for picks or b prospects.

The OP wants a back up goalie that will push for a number one spot.
That means Anderson is out, because he is a number 1 goalie.

That leaves Bishop which was brought up already. He could probably be had for a 2nd which is what we gave up for him.

I'm not saying that we are looking to move Lehner at all, and I hope like all Sens fans that he is our starter of the future. But at this point, nothing is certain. He may end up a starter, a backup, or out of the league. Just pointing out what it might take to acquire him (I would say a young sniping winger or prospect with a similar level of upside to Lehner, or a good young 2-way Dman, which is obviously not Edmonton's strong point at the moment).

I think Dubnyk is a fairly solid goalie. Your elite offense will keep teams in their zone the entire game.

If he's not planning to re-sign in FL, I think Theodore would be a good solution/fit.

i think the oil will roll with dubnyk/khabi if the season does happen and dubnyk/danis next year.. danis won ahl goalie of the year and has been very good for the barons this year.

i dont really see many options out there that would be an upgrade over khabi/danis that wouldnt be costly.

guys like enroth and bernier would want to be starters if moved im sure.. i think emery is a horrible goalie these days.

is Greiss a possibility? how much do shark fans think he is worth? he is the only goalie i could see making sense

They can't get one without parting with one of Hall/Eberle/Nuge/Yak/Schultz. It's simple.

a guy like Dan Ellis sure as hell isn't worth that! neither is Enroth, Greiss or Bernier.

Good luck getting a top pairing d-man for a goalie prospect.
