Derrick Pouliot was an offensive guy in a D corps full of offensive potential players. Not surprised he was cut.

Did not expect Pouliot to be cut this early. If Dumba stays and Pouliot is cut, I wonder what the reaction will be on HF.

Sure Dumba hasn't had the greatest season or been good at camp(Really?) but who else will bring that physicial/big scoring touch ability?
They have a ton of scoring potential from the backend, and Dumba's physical game won't amount to much if he's getting beat all over the ice. I like Dumba, alot, but there's always next year. There are alot of good Dmen available.

Unless your name is Morgan Rielly, you need to be a two-way guy on this team to make the top 6.

Dang, 3/4.
Pouliot had a good camp, should have kept him for another game to be honest.

Surprised a guy so good was cut, but Pouliot was caught in a numbers game. Didn't set himself apart from the group enough.

I actually am surprised Pouliot went this early with Wotherspoon still there. Probably age like I said earlier though

I thought Pouliot showed good poise and passing ability, with confidence. Really disappointing to see him cut so early.

I would have definitely cut Dumba before Pouliot.

They are two completely different defensemen. They were not fighting for the same spot.

Wasn't in the cards for Pouliot.
Had a great camp but in the SSS game he played he was -3 or -4.

Tim Wharnsby said there would be 5 cuts. We'll see if there is 1-2 more based on today's game.

TSN posted the article of the first round of cuts, so I think they're done.
