The 7th defenseman is probably an offensive guy like Dumba or Murphy (well Dumba can fill a lot of roles).

That doesn't make much sense. Corrado is a defensive guy first despite playing a bit more offensively this season. Scoring 2 goals didn't suddenly change that. Also calling Dumba and Wotherspoon "character" guys ... Corrado is the captain of Sudbury, he's as much a character guy as them.

I didn't say he didn't have character but if either Dumba or Wotherspoon makes it is going to be based on their character where I believe Corrado has a spot in the top 6.

My final 8 cuts are:
Jake Paterson
Frank Corrado (Yeah Dumba has been bad but his dynamic style will likely overshadow that to be the No.7 D)
Ryan Sproul
Tyler Wotherspoon
Anthony Camara
Daniel Catenacci
Hunter Shinkaruk
J.C. Lipon (hardest cut for me to make)

Yeah but he's a defense first guy. Doesn't mean he's a stiff, but you won't see him on the PP in the tourny. Points aren't everything.

Nate has arguably been the best player these first 2 days.
Canada has made huge mistakes cutting dynamic, younger talents in favour of older players these last 3 years. They can't screw it up this time.

I want him to make the team but I don't think he's a lock.
TC has made pretty dumb decisions not taking many superior 17 yo in the past.

My final 8 cuts:
Dumba, Wotherspoon, Sproul, McNeill, Camara, Catennaci, Lipon, Subban.
Subban is gonna cause some controversy, but based on play so far this camp, he shouldn't make the team.

My new predictions:
Scheifele-RNH-Rattie - Top scoring line
Huberdeau-Mackinnon-Drouin - Chemistry, elite skill
Ritchie-Strome-Jenner - Niagara chemistry, Jenner+Ritchie bring physicality
Hudon-Danault-McNeill - Checking line
Shinkaruk
Rielly-Hamilton - Top D Pair
Harrington-Ouellet - Shut down
Reinhart - Corrado
Murphy
Subban
Paterson

Not surprised. Spott is pretty loyal. Dumba was his captain and top player last year in the U18's so he will give him every opportunity to succeed. Just like he's doing with Murphy

30 minutes of play overrides the last two years?

No chance.....McNeill have been one of the best forward the last 2 days while Watson was disapointing

I would feel very unsure going into a tournament if our goalies were Binnington, Brossoit and Paterson.

Subban gives the team the best chance to win.. you can't make an argument for any of the other players, even though Binnington is having a strong season, there's a significant dropoff; it's Subban and everyone else. He's not getting cut, even if he let in 10 goals today.
And given who's left if camp, I don't see McNeill getting cut. Team Canada isn't bringing 3 draft eligible forwards. Period.

Huh? Subban only played bad today. He wasn't too bad yesterday. Besides, he's probably the safest bet for Canada in net.
