All that money Mayweather could've made by agreeing to a fight with Pacquiao just went bye-bye.

Marquez KO-ing Manny for his 2nd loss in as many fights just ruins any intrigue of whether we can see the two "best" fighters of today.

It's a shame that had they come to an agreement earlier so we would've seen the fight we've all wanted, and I'd give serious consideration to paying to see myself.

I'm not shocked. Pac has ALWAYS struggled mightily against Marquez; those two fighters are made for each other. On top of that, it's long been speculated that Pac's various other activities have distracted him from boxing, and that his numerous weight jumps have killed his punching power. He isn't exactly young, either.

I do NOT count the Bradley fight against him. I thought Pacquiao clearly won that fight.

As for Floyd, he had his chance. The rumored demands he gave Manny for a fight are ****ing ridiculous, and indicate he is either 1) out of his damned mind, or 2) had no interest in fighting him.

I would venture to guess Pac may be nearing the end. What did this PPV cost? Not that I would of ever bought it.

I've thought Pac was closing in on the end for a while. When he couldn't finish off Margarito despite landing 300 million punches on his face, that was a red flag. It's not like he's been a defensive master his whole career either, he's definitely taken punishment. It was just a matter of time until he couldn't take it anymore.

It's a shame, I really like the guy. Mayweather just weirds me out, so I don't like rooting for him. There isn't really anybody else I'm all that interested in currently...there's a young-ish guy named Andrade (or something) who has a ******** of potential, I guess.

If I'm remembering correctly, Manny proposed a 40-40 split with the extra 20% going to the winner, or something like that. Mayweather came back with "How about you get 20 million, and I take the rest?"

I think the projected take was something like 100 million since it would have been a globally watched fight.

Haha, pretty much.

i think the last Mayweather fight I actually enjoyed was against Hatton.

Floyd: I'm really good defensively.
Hatton: I'm going to run at you like a maniac and throw punches like a speedfreak.
Floyd: Oh dear. This kind of hurts.
Hatton: Oh, you're repeatedly hitting me in the head with hard straights. Touche. *zzzzzzzzzzzz*

This was probably one of the best fights I've seen in a while.

The monkey-in-a-coat is an avatar waiting to happen:

Shoppers at Toronto's Ikea store are surprised to see a monkey dressed in a smart sheepskin coat. The tiny, confused and seemingly lost pet monkey is believed to have escaped from a car in the Ikea car park and entered the store. If the owner is traced they will have to pay a fine of $240 (150) for having a prohibited animal in the city

The monkey in a suit (AKA Bettman) would still have the simian in a coat beat...

How Allen Iverson Managed To Go Broke

Yikes....

Quote:
Former NBA star Allen Iverson is digging himself into a giant financial hole -- with monthly bills that largely outweigh his monthly income -- but the good news is ... he's still got his fancy-schmancy Maybach.

Allen recently filed docs in GA court as part of his nasty divorce battle with his ex Tawanna Iverson which outline his dire financial situation.

According to docs, Allen brings in $62,500 in monthly income, but his expenses are FAR, FAR, greater ... costing him a cool $358,376.66 PER MONTH!!!!

So where does all his money go?

A large chunk -- $125,749.33 to be exact -- is spent paying off various creditors (like his jeweler) ... and some goes to his mortgages (but not for long, since his ATL crib is about to be auctioned off).

But Allen says he blows a lot on OTHER expenses too ... like $10,000/month on clothes, $10,000/month on grocery/house items, $1,000/month on dry cleaning, $5,000/month on entertainment, $5,000/month on restaurants ... and so on.

All in all, Iverson -- who reportedly made over $150 MILLION during his NBA career -- says he ends up in the hole each month to tune of $295,876.66. Ouch.

It's a shame. NBA teams should consider hiring a finance guy who handles the players' money. These guys show time and time again they can't do it themselves. Take his salary out of the players' earnings, he'll end up saving a lot of those guys far more in the long run anyways.

Don't all NBA players get forced to go through a budget class? Or is that the NFL?

^I think most leagues have it.

As sad as Allen Iverson's financial state of affairs is to begin with... the fact that you have the media putting their dick beaters all over it, packaging it up as a story and feeding it to the masses makes me even sadder.

I wish we could all live in a world where no one gave a **** about each other's personal lives... but that is not the case.

No worries, he's helping the economy by spending the money rather than sitting on it

Right there with you.

Edit: How Kanye even gets to share the stage with these acts is a mystery to me.
