Both of them are exceptional young defenceman...

Maybe him and Vatanen will compete against each other in the future, but right now Karlsson is better.

Doesn't really matter, the point must be, that Vatanen was atleast as awesome as Karlsson has been. Its not goingto matter does he play 70% or 100%, you're as good as you play, thats only fair judgement. If he wants to be better, then he must play better then. Im not saying Karlsson aint impressive, he definedly is very impressive, but it does not make less what Vatanen did in the league. Vatanen just is on hes level. I understand that many find the fact really hard to accept maybe, but when you look at Karlsson playing, it just reminds you of Vatanens skills and plays.

Lets see can he translate it to North America like Karlsson. Remember that to be even he doesn't haveto win norris at hes first season, neither did Karlsson. I would respect Karlsson higher because he's proven NHL player, but I completely understand the statement that if you compare the SM-Liiga performances, Karlsson aint much better, they're both best Dman of the league.

Any rumours on Karlsson continuing or not in Jokerit after xmas break?

I sure hope so, I bought prime seat tickets for KalPa - Jokerit with my friend immediately when we heard that the rumor of Karlsson is true. The game's at end of Janruary.

Maybe Karlsson is tired of the crappy refs and will flee. Refs allows lot of hooking at him.

He got 1 game suspension at throwing stick towards refs at TPS game.

I saw the interview of him saying that. But he would face the same reffing in Elitserien.

Throws at 00:05 or 00:06, from middle of blue line. And the stick slides to left side of CCM ad. Hits referees skate.

I had to do couple of replays to notice that.

The sheer amount of violence is causing post-traumatic stress every time you see it, erasing it from your memory.

FEL refs are complete joke this year. I just watched the game from tape and we'll all i can say i was genuinely pathetic work by them, even juniors do have better refs.

Not just this year. Every god damn year. SM-Liiga needs professional referees and not these amateurish ref wannabees whose egos doesn't even seem to fit inside the rink. They all must be Timo Favorin's babies.

And Karlsson is in Ottawa atm like some other lockout players. Let's see if he comes back if the lockout continues. I hope so but if not, thanks for the few months Erik!

Erik plays 2 games at Jokerit and then returns to Sweden to see what the final lockout situation will be and then decides where he is going to play...

Karlsson just played his last game in Jokerit jersey.

Jokerit won rival IFK 8-1 and Karlsson had 1+4 pts.

This song was played in the arena and the fans also had chant from the song many times during the game

I can say now that there is 3 Swedish hockey players in the world that gets all my respect: Peter Forsberg, Douglas Murray and Erik Karlsson.

AMAZING PLAYER AND WILL FOLLOW SENS CLOSER IN THE FUTURE.

Hey guys

Big Sens fan here and to be honest, I'm sad that Karlsson left today. I'm so pissed at the NHL that I dont even want the season to start. Would like to see Karlsson stay there and help Jokerit win a championship over there.

Glad to see he had a great final game in the derby today. And it's great that your fans respect him so much. Best of luck the rest of the way. Maybe he'll end up back there if the lockout continues

Do you guys think Karlsson will win the scoring title for defensemen in SM-Liiga even though he will only have played half of the games? The closest player atm is Kristian Näkyvä who's trailing by 13 points.

There's a very good chance he will win it. Näkyvä's scoring pace has slowed down after the first few months and Söderholm is playing for a struggling, low-scoring team.
