Agreed, Hudon is a more complete player than DD.

Agreed. I also think he has more offensive potential than DD. He's more smallish than DD's small. You do see some DD in there but there's definitely better comparisons than him.

Not to mention Hudon has a better shot. As good as DD's offense has been, his shot is closer to Gomez than good. They are both very intelligent, small players, but that's where the similarities end.

Isn't Hudon around 5'11"? So he would be taller then DD, wouldn't he?

And he is 18years old... who knows he could grow a few inches still.. and gains a few pounds would be great with his style.

I think Hudon is a lot like Jaden Schwartz of St.Louis.

Bozon scores a beauty top corner making it 4-2 but Edmonton scores again making it 5-2 with 4 mins left.

Blades are 4-0 since Thrower is back in the line-up...

I think that's a great comparison! If he ends up 6'1 one day, Hudon will be seen as the steal of the draft one day. He has ridiculous hockey sence and a nose for the net ala Camalleri,

I can see that...and I'm a fan of Schwartz.

Did I mention I love the Habs 2012 draft?

haha. I think I worded that weirdly. I meant that Hudon isn't small but smallish where DD is just small. As long as Hudon continues to put more muscle on, size shouldn't be an issue with him.

From what I've seen Hudon is a "small" 5'11" - probably a little under that measurement, and more importantly he has something of an average build and likely won't be able to tank up without hurting his mobility.

I mean he's still young so it's possible he fills out and maybe even grows, but right now he doesn't have the frame that even Collberg has (Timmins even pointed out how Collberg has the potential to add a lot of lower body strength). On the other hand he's far bigger than Desharnais and some other ultra-small guys who made it in Montreal.

If Gallagher,Hudon,Collberg make the Habs the need for some sizable forwards will increase. The Habs are in dire need of forwards that can make room for the smaller forwards to use their playmaking skills.

Hudon is 5'10", he may grow to 5'11" and should fill out to around 190lbs.

When we draft Barkov he can carrying them on his shoulders like master blaster.

Drafting Barkov would bring the tally to three for Habs Finnish Centers, counting Joonas Naatinen from the Bulldogs.

The thing I like about Hudon, is that he doesn't "look" small on the ice. If that makes any sense...I'm not syaing he looks 6 feet because he doesn't, but he looks and plays solid. I don't think his height and weight will hinder him that much. I don't think he'll go picking fights or hitting everything in sight, but it shouldn't be a problem.

In comes Pacioretty and Bozon! You're right thought, an that's why if the Habs draft around pick #15 and he's still there, we HAVE to to get Mantha. (I know, wrong thread for 2013 draft..)

Yeah like Recchi Giroux and guys like that his hockey sense and agility helps him get in good situations and avoid bad ones.

We can only hope that he develops the "concussion awareness" that Dr.Recchi has.

Putting on some muscle in his legs would give Hudon an edge against bigger opponents, similar to what Desharnais has done through his career.Having a low center of gravity and the power in his legs, levels the playing field for DD.I love the energy and effort players like those and Dumont give every shift, although Gabriel really doesn't need to pick fights quite as often.I realize he picks fights to give the team a spark and when the team is losing, they need someone leading by example.
