0.33 OKT's hit against Ben Eaves, seems clean to me.

Yeah, not dirty. Even Tomi Lämsä (Jokerit head coach) said it was clean, so hard to argue.

Next year this will have to be rectified.
I'm not sure how they do the schedule and which comes first, but to me it looks like the SEL teams involved in ET play have gotten SEL breaks around those dates. Not break breaks, but no back-to-backs. I.e. a normal SEL game day is Tuesday, but when Brynas played ET on Monday they played in the league on Wednesday. And FBK didn't play on Saturday(another official game day) because they had ET on Sunday. And so on. Which leads me to believe that the ET schedule comes first, and the league(team?) has to adjust it if they want to.

Are giroux and Briere eligible for these games?

If so, let's go Eisbaren.

2013 draftee Aleksander Barkov will play in this tournament for Tappara. I think that these games will be tougher than regular FEL or SEL games because of prize money and they play against best teams from european leagues. Would be cool seeing Barkov matched against Giroux and Briere. Anyone who could list all NHL players at this tournament?

How about Elias Lindholm?

I'm not too worried about the ET qualification, they are after all glorified practice games with low intensity and don't seem to be a good indicator on how a team starts the regular season. Tappara was the Finnish team that did the best in the ET qualification and they had a bad start in the regular season, competing for spots around 8-12, though they managed to turn it around and are now 6th. JYP on the other hand had bad results in the practice games but when the regular season started the 2012 champs switched to a higher gear and took a comfortable lead in the league, though others have since caught up.

The lack of intensity and speed can easily be seen by looking at individual player stats and Corey Locke of TPS Turku is a fine example. When the game is slow and teams don't play as much defense he has the time to play his own game and rack up points, but when the regular season started he has been struggling with speed and disciplined defense. There are multiple other examples like Tomas Plihal of Kärpät etc.

TBH I'd much rather have a system like the old IIHF European Champions Cup where the champions of the different leagues played a short tournament against each other in the winter, even if the Russians did dominate it. But I guess it failed for a reason.

One team from Finland last year and one from Sweden. No need to draw conclusions.

Interleague matchups are the worst in hockey. I doubt Tappara plays like that in SM-Liiga and I know FBK don't. If the teams aren't ready to put on a show there's never gonna be any hope for this tournament to grow.

When even Tappara and Farjestad's fans don't care you think someone else would?

Champions hockey league was very entertaining and was huge success. Competition was tough. Too bad it died.

It is all about money. Champion League had a significant money for winners and all participants. I guess Gazprom financed the league but got tired of it because the IIHF would not let Russians dictate the league rules.
