We aren't gonna even have 30 in camp. I can't imagine that anyone not absolutely a lock will be called up from the AHL this far into the season. Might see a couple of unsigned ufa's on tryouts but I'd be shocked if there were more than 25 at camp. Camp will be so short there won't be much "tryout" time it will mostly be "get the roster familiar with each other" time. And I think since the preds won't really have any "new" players they will have a distinct advantage over teams who will have 4 or 5 new faces to integrate.

oh yeah forgot Hannan but a vet like him should slide right into the 3rd pairing with no problems, really....
edit: I wonder if there will be a waiver free period? Is Blum now subject to waivers? If so he will either stay up all year or stay down until there is a long term need....
Smith and Hellburg are not ready for prime time. Ekholm is stepping up, Watson is leading the Ads but Latta might be due, if Bourque slacks in camp opens a spot for a forward. i could see an interesting cycle if there is increased pressure with 1/2 a season. Blum-Ekholm-Bartley-Moore, and Bourque-Watson-Cehlin-Mueller-Beck

I think the only possibilities is Mueller getting called up for camp and kept if any of the forwards arent 100%, and I could see Blum and Ekholm being given one week to prove which one should be the #7 dman, assuming neither is waiver exposed...

you can scratch bartley, moore and ekholm for sure. Only reason to have Blum and Ellis is if you are planing on an actual competition for the 6th spot in camp or Hannan is the 7th. Watson, Beck, Cehlin and Latta can all stay in Milwaukee. They are in the middle of season and have no need to be there. Org. has evaluated in person since September. No need to have a dog and pony show.
