Denmark, they seem strong up front, which the goalscore also shows, but D seems unconcentrated and Goal seems very week letting in goals on few shots.

GB beat Croatia 4-0. Croatia all but relegated.

Croatians have a real shot at going home without scoring a single goal. That almost makes me feel bad for them.

It looks like Spain and France are done too.

Edit: It looks like after the quite superb comeback from Slovenians France can now decide their own destiny in the last game against Austria.

Winner of France v Austria stays up. Spain and Croatia seem to be going down without a fight.

Battle for promotion in Division 1 Group II is looking tight.

I kind of want Norway to be promoted, now that Belarus is out, but it'd be awesome if Slovenia somehow managed to pull out a win on the last day to make the DEN - BLR game more exciting.

Have to say, the IIHF really made the right choice by changing the groupings. Just looking at Division IB, its still up in the air with only a couple days left. It used to be all but decided by this point, but we will have meaningful games until the final day. Its great, as it not only provides exciting hockey, but makes the teams have to actually try for each game, improving their skill along the way.

Completely agree.

Any of Poland, Italy, Ukraine, GB or Kazakhstan could go up. Provided the right permutations.

Belarus isnt out yet, they just need some serious help on the final day. They would need Slovenia to take all 3pts and then they would need the 3pts from Denmark, giving them 12, Norway 11, Denmark 10. Its very unlikely to happen, but still possible.

Gracnar almost singlehandedly kept Slovenia in this Division with his superb 0.951 save percentage but boy oh boy they are in for a world of hurt next year.

Ukraine currently leading Poland 2-0 which makes the group incredibly tight.

Poland - 6PTS
Italy - 6PTS
Kazakhstan - 6PTS
Ukraine - 5PTS
Great Britain - 4PTS
Croatia - 0PTS

We have very bad group of forwards this year. Last year it was much better, but that is our reality. Small player base.

Next year we will have troubles to keep our status in Division 2 A

Norway is up 4-1 over Slovenia, so it looks like its over and Norway will be promoted.

We won't get promoted now.

Norway promoted to the top tier & France or Austria will be relegated to Division I - Group B depending on the result tonight.
Poland, Italy, Kazakhstan and Ukraine can all get promoted to Division I - Group A depending on results. Croatia are relegated to Division II - Group A.
Japan promoted to Division I - Group B and Spain are relegated to Division II - Group B.

For the final day of Division IB, its between Poland, Italy and Kazakhstan for promotion. Italy and Poland are playing each other, and its likely the winner of that game is going to advance. For Kazakhstan to win promotion, they will have to defeat Great Britain in regulation, and have the Italy-Poland game go into overtime. Not an impossible task, but I'd say its safe to say Kazakhstan is staying put for another year.

As for the Italy-Poland match, it should be good. If I had to choose, I'd say Italy will pull out the win, though I'd prefer Poland to do so. Game is at 11.00 UTC (12.00 CET/06.00 EST/03.00 PST) if anyone is interested, though I have not been able to find a stream for the entire tournament.

It's a real shame there's been no streams.

If Poland win in any form, they're up. If Italy win in normal time they'll go up but if they win in OT and Kazakhstan win in regulation they'll go up.

Congrats to Norway and now congrats to Poland!

The latter team was down 2-0 against Italy but Kacper Guzik would then score a hat trick (the last goal coming at 57:28).
