Well camp does not start until the 16th and ends the 18th, then I know they play a scrimmage game against Finland don't know the date of when they play against them but I assume that cuts won't begin until after their scrimmage game against the Finns.
USA's pre competition game against Sweden on Thursday, December 20th will be broadcasted live on the NHL Network at 12:30. Will be showing on tape delay later that day. I would assume the second game against Finland on the 22nd will be shown as well. Awesome that they did that, they usually never do.

That is awesome, I wish the NHL Network would showed live action of the practices from Dec 16th to the 18th.
They've aired its championship game before but done so tape delayed IIRC.
Actually I do remember that, was in 2010? If i'm not mistaken. I would really like to see the U-18's in in the spring shown on there. It just conflicts with all the playoff coverage so I would doubt it.
Does the US hold a later camp because a lot of their kids have to write final exams? Or is my theory wrong lol
That's a good point, I'm not sure. I bet William H. Bonney will know. I've always thought they hold the camp a little late. I mean their just getting on the ice to practice together ten days before puck drop. Plus making final cuts a couple of days before the 26th. I guess it doesnt really matter, you either come together and play well or you don't. A few extra days doesn't necessarily mean a huge difference does it?

A couple of things:
* This team is by and large set. All three goalies are going. There is maybe one or two spots at defense open and maybe two or three at forward
* Let's be thankful USA Hockey even holds a camp. This is a relatively new phenomenon

I believe you may be on to something. Most NCAA programs are going into winter break. BC and Minnesota for example do not play conference games again until January. There will be an exhibition series in late December however. A few schools have games this week/weekend like North Dakota, Wisconsin and Michigan, and except for exhibition tournaments in late December are off until January.

It definitely makes sense but W.H. Bonney will answer it ?
Minnesota has two "study days" today and tomorrow and then finals week next week which is why they are not playing again until after Christmas. You're probably right.
Not to get them all upset but encouraged by the team Canada brought, I would have gone different in a couple areas. Certainly helps what some of us expect to be a smaller USA team and they can target Murphy.

I suspect most teams will try to account for the bigger ice by bringing faster, more skilled teams instead of the traditional top6/botton 6 configurations. This could be one of the most exciting tournaments in years, with the big ice and more high end NHL calibre talent.

As far as I'm aware that is the prime reason - finals week.
Kerdiles has a goal tonight. I wonder if USAH makes anything known about him after this game? I know he's on the IIHF roster but that just confirms he was the only one they were still scouting IMO.
Gibson is also back in goal for Kitchener. Some work before camp is good.

You'd have to think Wisconsin would get off the snide with Alabama coming to town.
