Been busy the last few hours; Christmas shopping is hard. Have they solved the lockout yet?

I can't wait for players to lose a whole season of wages.
I absolutely love it.

They put all their chips on red. And Bettman brought out the roulette wheel with nothing but double zero's.

More evidence that this is the NHL's final offer.

Just ****ing take it, "#theplayers".

That's pretty much the only reason I'm still paying attention...I mean there's only so much of the same old status quo you can take though, this has gone so long they're now recycling storylines because they've run out of new ideas to delay until mid-January (mediators for a second, fruitless two-day session, really?).

The third option is most likely but I think that even then the PA would be stubborn and refuse to move.

I was hopeful that a deal would be done this week or next but my optimism is gone and frankly, they might as well just cancel the season as it's a wasted exercise. Let the players lose their money and let Fehr think he's won when he hasn't.

No movement whatsoever. It's like they're putting on one giant trollfest.

In other news, what's hockey again?
You forgot to mention Fehr's great-great-great grandson saying they're close and Bill Daly's great-great-great grandson vowing to sit out another fifty years until players agree to five-year term since his great-great-granddaddy, great granddaddy and granddaddy all died on that hill.

This whole mediation crap was an epic waste of time by Fehr and he knew it. He has another month of posturing before he thinks about getting serious. And don't expect a vote by the PA. Fehr will do his best to avoid that instead he will waste another months worth of pay checks for the players while getting nothing in return.

If they do torpedo another season, the next time we'll see anyone from the NHL is on CourtTV or whatever they call it now...which might as well be where the NHL puts its games from now on because no real network wants to deal with this ******** anymore.

So we have two or more weeks of whining, crying and sniveling.

The ultimate Merry Effing Christmas from the players.

I'm sure Fehr was able to make it that it is pretty much impossible to do a deal without him, he wouldn't have come out of retirement just to become the fourth union chief overthrown in a decade. If the PA does do a deal around him he might have a huge balloon payment due to him, at least I've seen that speculated around here. Either way, I think we'll have to deal with Fehr just like we have to deal with Bettman because they both run fiefdoms. And the sooner they realize that and decide to start dealing with each other the more chance we'll have to actually see hockey before next October.

I think the NHL is slowly coming to the same realization.

Everyones waiting for the final tipping point. This time it's for real though. Just silly silly games being played for what miniscule issues that are left.

Both sides should be ashamed of themselves and if a full season is lost, negotiating commitees on both sides should be relieved of thier duties. They are the ones who would've steered this thing into a 20 car pileup.

Wondering which of #theplayers will lead the mutiny if the NHLPA refuses to budge before Christmas.

The pure comedy is when a deal finally gets done, it's going to come out of nowhere. There'll be a few days of dead news, maybe even some more public bickering then whoa, look at what we have here! That is if we do have a deal and Fehr doesn't take this into court which I still fear might be his endgame.

I predict we have hockey by Christmas. This process HAS to be winding down. I should note that I'm only wrong when I'm not right.

Maybe this deal has been proposed by the league already?
I like this part a lot:
eight-year limits for players who have been with a team for five years.
