Agreed. Seems like unnecessary worrying

Crosby was cleared to play how many times???

Hossa is as important to the as Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook, if not more. If he's going to be battling concussion issues the rest of his career then thats something to be concerned about.

Sure, but I don't see how we should be any more worried now than we were when it happened.

Crosby was cleared to play, and finished the season with no ill effects.

/\ Are you serious? Like Crosby, Hossa may be one hit away from retirement and his style of play makes it even more concerning. Not to mention that he may be gun shy coming back. There is lots to be concerned about.

I really LOVE this sentence.

[insert player name that is talked about] MAY be ONE hit away from retirement.

Fact of the reality is that EVERY player MAY be one hit away from retirement or even more.

Well glad you love it and you’re right … except …..… it obviously pertains to some players more than others. We all have seen what has happened in the past to players like Crosby, both Lindros, LaFontaine, Savard, Pronger, Kariya …. The list goes on. The first few weeks and months for Hossa in his return will be scary every time he makes contact (which is often, the way he plays).

Add Toews to the list, too.

I understand that, but i'm not sure why we should be MORE worried now than we were when the original hit happened.

Hossa is back in NA and was interviewed the other day (it can be seen on Bleacher report). He said he was relieved that he has been cleared to play and has recently had some high intensity skating sessions in which he felt great. Not the same as contact of course, but at least it’s something.

Nothing to really worry about. He has another 9-10 months of rest ahead of him. At least.

With Toews' concussion history, I think he fits the category more than Hossa does.

here's the article from CSN re Hossa - and it includes a video of an interview with the man himself

http://www.csnchicago.com/hockey-chi...9&feedID=10334

he says he was cleared mid-November (so he wouldn't have been ready for an Oct. season start)...but it sounds like he's doing well.

it's nice to hear from him. He's one of my fave players in the NHL!
