Sounds like a future episode plot for "The Big Bang Theory"

Ah yes, the classic "Heatley is a murderer" arguement.

Anybody else have a really strong tie between music and memories?

I'm listening to Emotionalism for the first time in months and all I can think of is summertime, playing Saints Row 2, and drinking.

Yeah I do that all the time. As cheesy as it is to say, music is the soundtrack of my life.

O yea, whenever I hear RHCP's By the Way album I think of a book I used to read back in like 6th grade. I had just gotten the CD and played it whenever I was in my room reading.

Yeah, I remember reading Anne Franke's diaries while listening to the first Foo Fighters album. There's a lyric that goes "the thought of being ousted" but I heard it as "the thought of being in Auschwitz"...

Now that song makes me thing of Nazi camps.

Anyone catch the 12/12/12 concert last night?

My thoughts:

-Clapton was the best performer, wish he would have played longer

-Kanye shouldn't have been there, he was completely out of place and didn't fit the crowd.

-Billy Joel was good but is starting to look like Bill Plaschke.

-The McCartney performance with "Nirvana" (Grohl, Novoselic, Smear) was pretty great. Krist Novoselic has not aged well.

-Speaking of aging, the Stones looked prehistoric; Mick Jagger is starting to look more and more like my grandma.

-Bon Jovi still sucks

-Roger Daltry unbuttoned his shirt ALL THE WAY and it was horrifying.

My take on the Sandy concert:

Nirvana's going to play with Paul McCartney? Wow.

(Everyone on Twitter talking about Springsteen's crotch)

Roger Waters - Meh. I'm not a PF guy. He had the dull drummer thing going on. The guitarist I thought was pretty good (not GE Smith), obviously not Gilmour but cool anyway. Loved his guitar though, a Suhr Tele style with HSS and some nice wood burned artwork. Not a Vedder guy either.

Bon Jovi - okay, good time to go work out.

Rolling Stones - Amazing these guys are still alive. Not a Stones guy. Charlie Watts looks senile.

Clapton - always cool. One of the purest white blues guys around. Also, Steve Jordan sighting.

Alicia Keys - Sounded like she had a cold. Cute but kind of dull.

The Who - Zak Starkey is a million times better a drummer than his dad, FACT. The Who's still kind of cool, but man was their dud to good song ratio high.

(at this point, Sandy concert is like a recap of boring Superbowl halftime shows...where's Tom Petty?)

Kanye - Garbage. Next.

Golden quote from @Russostrib:
Quote:
Drunk Uncle should be the built-in bathroom break at every future concert
Billy Joel - This was my range of emotion:

1. Billy Joel! I forgot he even existed?
2. Remember when Billy Joel was on American Chopper?
3. Hey, a Christmas song.
4. Billy Joel sounds like a musical.
5. Billy Joel is the kind of music you put on when you're having a party and want people to leave.
6. God I hate Billy Joel.
7. I'm going to bed.

So I woke up, hit play on the DVR...and the friggin channel switched to wrestling before Paul McCartney came on.

Go to YouTube and watch the song...weird. Just plain weird.

But I'm a picky ******* who dislikes pop music and really the only classic rock I like is Zeppelin and The Beatles. My golden age of music started with grunge into 90's punk into 90's emo into various forms of rock/metal.

I listened to my gal talk about Springsteen's package for about a half an hour and fell asleep while Roger Waters was playing. Haven't had the desire to go back and watch any of it. Meh.

The first Foo Fighters album is the best one. By far.

I love Billy Joel.
There's a great Chuck Klosterman essay that pretty much explains my feelings about him. "every dog must have his every day every drunk must have his drink" from his book Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs.

On a serious note, that's a really good move.

I noticed.

I should've called dibs on it, but it would've been unfair I guess. Besides, I still have Spurgeon.

I think I found the perfect custom title with this avatar.

Too bad, I couldn't put "a" there. Oh well.
