I understand the want/need to play these last 10-12 games.
But if thats the case then why not sim more during the middle of the season?
Keep it 50/50 as advertised.
Because like you said this is a learning experience for us all. Honestly I didn't think everyone would like simming. But seeing how this is my first league I think we'll do it like this. We'll play the last 2 blocks. But starting next year we will be adopting some of our sister leagues rules(franchise player, backup goalie) which will be explained in the off season. Also I'm thinking a triple sim in the middle of the season to makeup for the last 2 blocks which should in theory make these last 2blocks even more interesting and playoffs more intense. My only regret is keeping injuries on with so many games simmed.
We've simmed what? 35 games atleast? Most likely 40+. It takes away from the end of the season if we sim the last period of games. The scramble for playoff seeds make the last 10 games of the regular season EXTREMELY fun.
Maybe some of you wouldn't know that because you havn't been in leagues as active as mine but i dont think playing 46 of 82 games is THAT much different than playing 41 of 82 games. The benefits of it are much higher than any detriments.
*Oh and for the record Chuck Woods, i'm about 3 games out of a playoff spot with 11 games to go. I'd have to 8-2-1 or 9-2 just to have a chance. Your assumptions are nice though

Injuries on adds a dimension, but yeah. It is a shame that you can't toggle them off for the simulations and leave them on for the played games.
Anyway, I think the last few games have to be played to prevent a wave of playoff altering injuries. (But I was one of the most vocally opposed to playing the last three full windows).
I'm amazed at how good the Habs did during the sims this year I have a pretty good vs record but wow my sim record lead to what looks like an Eastern Conference title and maybe a first round date with either Toronto or Boston!!!
how many more teams is going to outplay but get the loss?
game is a joke.
You seem to complain about this a lot Unlike the last couple iterations of NHL, shots and TOA have little bearing on the outcome of a game. This game rewards strong rushes and punishes possession play. Outchancing someone and losing does happen, but quality chances are hard to quantify and influenced by our bias. I know when you felt the game between us was 'stolen' from you, I held my tongue, but disagreed. Wasn't trying to outshoot or out possess you, but when I get half a dozen or more chances in alone on a goalie I like my odds of winning, regardless of any other stat.

Im facing someone and the count is at 5+ at this point.
A little rediculous if you ask me considering I cant recall a single time an NHL player has dove to break up a play in offensive zone let alone 5 times.

Skate around him? Jump deke is even better because it helps the guy realize how dumb it was of him to dive.
It worked once to keep it in the zone, but didnt taint the outcome.
But thats not the point.
This league worries so much enough enforcing rules, yet nothing is done about something like this in terms of outlining game play rules.
I realize that it may or may not effect the outcome of a game because once you realize its a possibility to happen its easy to avoid, but common.
Stop worrying about the "franchise" rule and people complaining about wanting to play the last 20 games and sort the rest of this crap out.
This league is getting a bit old.
So leave? If you aren't enjoying the league then I'd suggest just leaving.
I can't possibly imagine people not wanting to play the last 20 games or so, I know in the Bluth Company I was in a fight for eighth place with a couple of teams that came down to the very last game, sure, I lost that game but that was a hell of a lot more fun then crossing my fingers and hoping I made out well in the sim.
